Funny thing is we export more oil from Canada then we do from the middle East, so why the impact, I can see if Canada was having a revolution. Hows that drilling looking now, boys and girls.

+10...Amen, brother!!

Its because our dollar is weak due to debt, it does not have a lot of buyiing power outside of the usa. If the dollar is weak, it does not buy as much fuel wether its from canada or the middle east. As fuel prices climb, so does everything else thus inflation. In my opinion we are not in a recovery, because we have not reduced our debt. We are on the verge of economic collapse.

If the higher prices were contributing to building infrastructure (have you been on the roads in France, they're unbelievably smooth), I wouldn't mind. I's just lining the pockets of the oil company executives. Bummer. OTOH, as a percentage of the price, 100 octane fuel isn't that bad. I paid $6.59 today for it versus about $4.10something for crummy 91 octane. No one in my world can complain to me about gasoline prices until US fuel is priced higher than it is in Europe.

Housing bubble, stock market bubble, caused by greedy people trading, and hoping to get rich by doing no work. Oil market same thing, IMO. Any news, significant or not, logical or not, is an opportunity to make free money, and they are addicted to it.

I drove by the Marathon station near my house again today, $3.39 a gallon for 87 unleaded. I took 120 mile round trip to visit family today and I made mental notes of the gas station prices on the way there. On my way home I filled up at a Marathon station in the next county south of here, I paid $3.34 a gallon for 87. That was the best price I saw on regular 87 from any name brand station. The highest price I saw was $3.49 a gallon for 87 at a Shell station. The cheapest price I saw was $3.29 at both Walmart and BJ's Club.

I am very glad to have filled up at $3.34 per gallon today. Who knows how high the price will be come Monday when the people who determine gas prices start manipulating the prices even higher and blaming it on the two oil wells in Iraq that are shut down now.

Fill up at 3.30 and topped off at 3.40 with in an hour. Loving my awsome 13.36 mpg my f150 gets, makes me think the 700 bucks for a new engine in my Saturn is worth it.

Not a good idea in Miami-Dade or Broward County...Alot of those motorcycle drivers get decapitated down here all the time...Just make sure all your affairs are in order before climbing aboard one.

I lost count how many time I have been tied up in major traffic jams on I-95 and the causeways in Miami Beach because of motorcycles getting killed and the investigation taking hours to get done.

As the price of fuel goes up.....the "fuel saving" gimicks will be coming out in full force again.

Best advice, keep your vehicle tuned up as recommended by the manufacturer and drive conservatively.
A modern fuel injected, computer controlled, vehicle is not going to suddenly gain fuel economy by some toy add-on, or something dumped into the fuel tank.

If I watch my driving, I use around 8 gallons a week.....so a $1 increase is $8 more a week.
It will cost me more in increased prices at the grocery store then what I pump into my gasoline tank.

Here in L.A. it's crazy. Most gas stations around L.A. are pushing near the $4 mark. A station in West Covina has the dubious distinction of having the highest price in the nation, $4.69 for regular. Prius drivers are smugly smiling now! Me? I'm communing with my beautiful, mellow cat named Mitzy (or Mit-Mit). She's on my shoulder now - her little motor purrs up a storm, and it's free.

Filled up at $3.22 on the MO side this morning. $3.24-$3.25 on the KS side. Seriously debating the trip to Houston in April probably $300+ just in gas!

That's probably a darn good idea. Or wait until prices really spike, and sell it for a mega-$$$. Remember the $7000 Sprint/Firefly in '08?

Right now 87 AKI at the local terminal is $2.7865/gallon and 87E10 is $2.7705 so speculation is still driving up the price, albeit at a much slower rate than a few days ago. These prices obviously do not include freight, taxes, etc.

Unfortunately, while the latest jumps have clearly been driven by speculation, the price won't decline much when the speculative bubble goes bust this time (as it always does), because the dollar is just flat out absolutely worthless, and the administration's policies will keep it that way, or even make it worse.

Worse, the administrations energy policy seems to be that of doing everything it can to prevent or impair the production of domestic fossil energy, in favor of nonsense like wind and solar farms, that have not a chance of supplying meaningful energy any time in the near future.

Imagine how bad it would be if the economy was not in the trash can and there was actually any demand for oil.
