Well,I downloaded & installed a microsoft"SteadyState" program a couple days ago and now My computer rebooted & said updating..then went to the point of where it wants My password in order to get to My desktop.The problem is I do not have a password & even in safe mode I cannot get pass the password prompt.Without having to re-install windows is there any way to get past the password prompt?....Thanks

Steady State is a nifty piece of software!
Is this a standard XP login or is Steady State asking for a password outside the normal login process?
If a normal process, then you have tools available to you:

Thanks for the links.Got in but now I cannot get into My main account without going into safe mode.I trie user switching with no luck...any suggestions??
Well I am formatting & reinstalling Windoze thanks to Microsofts:"steadystate" which caused this problem.

Well..Got done earlier with the re-install.What a royal pain!! Lost a lot of files but thanks ti Firefox for making the install a little easier!!
