Hella has released 14 new LED light bars that are legal for on-road use in Europe. Not clear to me whether they are auxiliary high beam type or auxiliary low beam type, or both.

Lippstadt, 9 March 2023. HELLA, the automotive supplier operating under the FORVIA umbrella brand, is expanding its Black Magic product range with a total of 32 new lightbars............ with 18 additional lightbars for off-road applications and 14 lightbars with ECE approval R149 for use as auxiliary headlamps in road traffic.

The HELLA Black Magic Lightbars are auxiliary headlamps with a very powerful light output. Depending on the version, they offer up to 9,200 (with ECE approval) or 20,000 (for off-road applications) effective maximum lumens.

14 Lightbars with ECE approval suitable as auxiliary headlamps in road traffic

In addition to the sophisticated and attractive design, the auxiliary headlamps of the Black Magic series offer excellent light output. For example, the longest ECE version at 40 inches has a light output of 9,200 effective lumens. An excellent choice for those who need good light on the truck or SUV. In addition, the product series complies with EMC protection in accordance with ECE-R10, has all the necessary protection classes and is thus dust-tight and resistant to high-pressure cleaners. Operating voltage of 10-30 volts and an extra-strong, two-meter cable make the Black Magic series the ideal companion for trucks, SUVs and off-road vehicles. The ECE versions are available from 7 to 40 inches.

Nice, apparently Hella is not "giving up" on aftermarket lighting. For years the market has been dominated by no name brands. Even KC HiLiTES has stepped up their game with the Bronco roof bar. I thought Hella was done when they closed their SC York plant, shipped their USA made relay business to China, and the same old rallye light offerings....always seemed to be behind the times.

I wonder will these Hella light bars be made in Germany? Or the less quality Optilux line?

A nice combo of the nice old school round 100 watt halogen driving lights and LED Fogs and headlights. The combo is very, very pleasing.

Although the camera is sensitive, and it appears the area directly to the sides are darker, visibly they are not, the fogs do light the sides well. And the halogen driving lights reach the end of the road nicely.
