I agree with Kushner, Bush is hated and distrusted around the world. (that includes most western countries). If he is so smart, what about all the tell all books that seem to indicate a real lack of leadership? Why do you care about gay marrige anyway? How does it affect you if you're not gay?

BTW when are you Americans going to stop telling this fairy tale? Sure the US made a great contribution, but it was the Russians that defeated the Germans in Stalingrad and crushed the Germans in the Kursk in the largest battle in history before the US was significantly engaged in Europe. The US helped shorten war in Europe by about 3 years. The defeat of Japan was pretty much 98% by the Americans though.
Also, as mentioned in other posts, about 80% of the casualties in the German army were on the eastern front. The English held off the Germans from the fall of 1939 through the fall of 1942, which is when the US started arriving in significant numbers. The primary result of the D-Day invasion is that western armies also occupied Europe, instead of just the Red Army.
Most aren't aware that the Soviets, under Zhukov in first major 'troubleshooting' campaign, inflicted so many casualties on the Japanese at Halin-Gol in 1939, over 60,000, that the Japanese not ony never bothered the Soviets again, they were worried about a Soviet offensive for the rest of the war. Unfortunately, it has become a regular form of the liberal/conservative debate for a liberal to reply that the conservative is stupid.

Maybe stating 'In WWII the Allies defeated Germany, and the US and England prevented the Soviets from occupying all of Europe' is more accurate than 'the US freed Europe', as everyone seems to acknowledge that they didn't since the Soviets occupied eastern Europe. It's also a lot more accurate than 'the US defeated Germany', or 'the US won WWII'.
Probably most accurate to say that the U.S. rebuilt Europe.

As far as Bush being hated.....for the first time in a long time we have a president who stands behind his words (or at least most of them), believes in the almighty which the very secular Hollywood elite hates, and is giving the "government money" back to the people who rightfully earned it.....the people (I'm a witness to that.)
The other side just wants to increase burocracy and red tape, over tax the working class and apease our "allies" as well as the terrorits.
EDIT: Eventhough it wasn't mentioned here, I think it should. People keep complaining about the deficit and how the country is bankrupt and how Clinton gave us a $1.3 trillion surplus.
The only reason Clinton accumulated such a surplus was due to the very big economic bubble of the mid to late 90s and extreme over-taxation.....which we now know got us into the '00 recession. Not only did Bush had to clean up that mess, but he also got hit with 9/11, which in large part was the fault of Clinton; because "Osama hadn't done anything....so we couldn't charge him"

The T 34 tank, was pretty much superior to ANYTHING the allies used during WW II and only the German Tiger was possibly better. Aircraft and arty were all domestic designs. But in later years the Russians did steal US technology including the A-bomb and the copied the B 29. But then most US rocket and missile technology was developed by Germans, and even the the current US light machine gun is derived from the German MG42.

The Germans made it to within 25 miles of Moscow.......all in just a few months.
Stalin got extremely lucky and got a lot of help.
