I'd rather sling an aluminum jack around than a steel one. I have both and I use my aluminum one far more than the steel ones regardless of price.

I mean, how much slinging does one actually do with a floor jack? Unless you are using it for mobile applications or constantly throughout the day. I have aluminum and steel and for all more I use them it doesn't really matter.

Got the Harbor Freight one a little over a year ago during a similar one day sale and it already failed.

The aluminum WAS nice and I slung it a fair amount.

Do you know what failed on it? I wonder if it's DIY repairable.

I've had the Daytona version of the 1.5 ton aluminum for a couple of years and so far so good.

Vevor is temu brand. Junk.
I'm ok with this perception, keeps their prices low. I've had nothing but success with Vevor stuff.

I have the 2.0 and 2.5 ton HF aluminum jacks, they are excellent and more or less replaced my heavy steel 3.0 low profile. I still keep it around when needed.

Thanks and just got one while I was close to a HF store..been using a Pitt low profile long reach with a cross beam for years and certain getting heavier as I age :-)

It probably is repairable. Check out my video on it here. @eljefino

And here is my Short suggesting a jack pad for some extra height:

Tips are welcome in the form of motor oil or notification of motor oil deals!

Tried VEVOR condensor fan motor, junk,
Second fan motor was a return.. DOA.
tried vevor knee scooter first one brakes didnt work
second knee scooter tire lasted 1 day before leaking around the valve stem.

If someone else is having a better experience I will accept I was unlucky.

Actually on the vevor motors I didnt write that out clearly.

The second was a return with burnt wiring marks
the first was Dropped somewhere and made noises = DOA.

I wouldn't go over a ton with mine and it's always not quite enough lift. The flexing scares me!!

I bought a 1.5 ton from HF . It wouldn't lift the front of my Titan . It got pilfered and although I know where it is , I don't want it back .
Replaced it with a steel 3 ton .

Fixed it, thanks for inspiring me to get off the couch.

As per the video, I just removed that cross bar so I could flip the handle all the way up, came at the right piston to convince it to go where the spring should push it, removed the c-clamp keeper, washer, and spring, removed the 22mm hex thingamabob, pounded out the piston, cleaned out the goopy peanut-butter grease, sandpapered some roughness/corrosion out of the inside bore, oiled the O-rings and bore with ISO32 hydraulic oil, and reassembled. Works. Thanks again! I'll be on the lookout for broken ones of these at the dump. 😁
