And then there is Saban who really doesn't need to recruit.

I know that PSU will never win another championship in my lifetime..Just too many other schools who buy players, have low academic standards, and where football is like a God. I am sincerely not being jealous. I think college football has overshadowed academics..by a wide margin....duuhhh

That's ridiculous. MI has always been a big time football program.

When was it a big time program? Prior to 2007. 3 of the 4 past season's they had 10 wins. You believe Michigan is Alabama? After 22 years without a National Championship you can resurrect Schembechler it does not matter. It's not the coach it's the program.

If you say so...

Not I say so its fact. Your favorite program is a once in a decade conference winner and a national champion once just about every 25 to 30 it's the way it is.

What do you expect?

I feel sorry for the MI players. The expensive great hope is a dud on the big stage. He was not a great NFL coach, Harbaugh is a whinny, self centered person who has been humbled. GO OSU. Ed

How so? Before he arrived at USD they were irrelevant. After he left the same. Standford was a doormat but they kept Shaw who is a good coach but they are not going to the Rose Bowl every year. Then Michigan is a 10 win team almost every year. Michigan has not had success like this since they fired Carr. But they can always have Rich Rod.

If Sabin was their HC, they'd be winning the NC a lot more frequently, but according to you it's the program, not the coach...

Yeah it is the program. If Sabin is your bar keep firing coaches every year. Maybe you can find your Sabin. Haha you think Nick Sabin's are a dime a dozen.

Gotta agree with Dave. UM won 4 bowl games since 2000. Even in their prime 70's/80's they routinely got [censored]-kicked in Bowls.

My Facebook has been exploding the last few days since that game. I have a lot of friends who are Ohio State fans, and they're already stroking their ego about the playoffs. I just don't see it happening due to the combination of a few reasons.

1. Purdue - Ohio State got slaughtered (not just beat, slaughtered) by unranked Purdue, 49-20. That looks really bad. It's not like they lost to a top 10 team. They got embarrassed by 6-6 Purdue. You can't get slaughtered by an unranked team and expect an easy road to the playoffs.

2. Nebraska - Ohio State barely escaped this one with a win. Nebraska finished the season 4-8 and put 31 points on Ohio State, including leading at halftime. That doesn't look good.

3. Maryland - Ohio State pulled out lucky horseshoe in this one. A 52-51 overtime win against a 5-7 team. They had 10 penalties and 3 turnovers while giving up 535 yards and 7 touchdowns to the 97th ranked offense in the country. That's not the caliber of a championship worthy team in my book.

4. Michigan - The win, in my opinion, is overrated. The Ohio State vs Michigan game is always a battle. Many people on both sides consider it the only important game in the season, more important than a national championship game. Schedules and records aside, both teams walk into that stadium like they're undefeated so I don't consider this a demonstration of how good Ohio State may be as a playoff contender. I view it as how good they are against Michigan.

I feel like if Ohio State wants to make a statement for the playoffs, they're going to have to do it against Northwestern. It won't be enough to just beat Northwestern. Ohio State needs to dismantle Northwestern. They need to do to Northwestern what Purdue did to them. If they just squeeze out a win by a touchdown or less, they won't get taken seriously. They need to prove they want it. Even if they do manage to dismantle Northwestern, if Oklahoma redeems themselves by beating Texas, I think they'll get the nod in over Ohio State.

I don't know why any OSU fan would be chomping at the bit for their team to get into the play-offs. Even the most blind OSU fan has got to know they don't have a snowball's chance in **** of beating Alabama...no team does...even if MI had gotten in, I know they would've gotten slaughtered by Alabama....OSU fans should be happy they won "the game", but they also need to realize that's where their winning stops...

I agree with you 100%. These guys are saying "bring on Bama!" I personally don't care to see OSU get shut out 38-0 again. I want to watch some actual football.

Pretty much all OSU fans are delusional about their team...38-0 against 'Bama would be the halftime score...
