Anybody here run them? I did a forum search, but got no hits.

People either seem to love them (cheap, and pretty grippy), or hate them (soft sidewalls, esp. for a max peformance tire).

With DTD's $100 rebate, plus Hankook's $80 rebate, they would seem to be tremendous value, even if they're not in the Pilot Sport class (though C/D compared them favorably to the PS2 back in '09).

I hate buying tires.

Had a pair on the back of my eclipse gst, only put a couple hundred miles before selling it. They rode smooth and quiet, never pushed the traction limits though.

We stock them in 205/50/17, as they are the cheapest tire in that size on our tire program. When buying tires, the majority of our customers want the cheapest they can have, and seem to not care about brand. That size tends to fit Mazda 3 and 5.

I have them on my S2000. They are very grippy and quiet on dry roads, and like other max-performance tires they don't lasted long, I may be getting 10-12k miles out of the rear and probably 16-20k miles from the front.

These tires are VERY nice for a cheepy. I have a set of 275/35/20 on my car and they are outstanding in almost every aspect. Nice ride too which is not always the case with 180 mph tires.

A terrific buy.

Thanks all.

I've rarely gotten more than 20k out of a set of tires, so that's not a big concern.

I can live with a noisier, or harder riding tire.

I just don't want an overly floppy or rubbery-feeling tire.

I'll probably fall victim to cheap temptation, though.

I can offer these for comparison as I go through a LOT of tires on this car. Big heavy high powered sedan.

original equipment was Goodyear Eagle RS-a's. They stunk. I never even knew about body roll because they washed out so early. Decent at the strip if you knew how to use them. Rating on 10 point scale? 5.

Bought Goodyear Eagle F1's next. A great tire if it's warm and dry, otherwise they stink, too! Very short life but decent stick. Too expensive for the performance. Rating? 6

Toyo Proxes 4. So good I bought them twice. These were the best all around tire I have had on the car. Major demerit is severe changes as they wear down. Decent tread life, too. Exceptional straight line traction, got my best ET with these! Rating? 8

Hankook Ventus V12. Found these on the BMW boards. If they work well on a 7 series they should do well for me. After a solid 7500 miles I think they are the bomb. VERY sticky in dry and wet, decent traction out of the hole. Smooth AND quiet. Seem excellent, and I never get too much life out of a summer tire.

premature rating is a 9

Heh, I couldn't resist, especially after DT sweetened the deal a little more.

I guess I'll find out soon enough, but even if the V12 may not be the ultimate in a Max Perf tire, it's well-rounded, and the value proposition is certainly strong.
