hello all.

I have used Filtech A01 and Regular Honda A02s and many oil filters for my Honda. A guy at work used to have a Honda a few years ago and said he had a HAMP SYNERGY.. He told me I could have it.. It was funny b/c I just ordered at Mahle Micostar Oil filter. I got it at work from World Pac for like $4

However look how tiny this HAMP Synergy is.

Also I asked the person who gave it to me and he said they made the HAMP Synergy small that way to give more OIL Pressure or something that has to do with VTEC

Look at pics.. Notice how the Mahle is normal size compared a regular HONDA A01 or A02

Now my question??? Is it okay to use this small HAMP Syn oil fitler?
It says on there site its okay? If so is it better?
Also what do you guys think of the MAHLE

I dont think the size is gonna help with oil pressure. If anything I have never heard of "Hamp" either. So is a filter you should just shrug off? Now Mahle. Is a good quality filter OEM on many German vehicles. I would run it on my Honda in a heart beat. Now the hamp, I would check into that and see if its a quality oil filter or not. If it is I would run it.

Honda reduced the sizes of a lot of their oil filters back in the early 2000s.

I used to buy my filters at the dealer and the parts guy warned me that they were going to a smaller filter. He showed me the comparison in sizes. I bought two of the larger sized filters at the time and never went back to buy another filter from the dealer.

The smaller filter is probably fine, I would personally want to use a larger filter if possible.

You asked what HAMP stood for when a poster had already answered that question. That was the point.
