Absolutely cool beans, I just got xp running under cinnamint 13.10'buntu linux this week. Virtualbox runs splendid; took a little time to get to work just right and going through all the xp system updates.
Just out of curiosity, as someone who avoids Windows as much as is humanly possible, why do some people, like yourself, set it up as you did, whereas others set up dual boot partitions?
I've previously been running dual boot as long as I've used linux.
I'd only boot to windows if there's something than I couldn't get done under linux. It's really a bother though, to have to quit all the browser windows and anything else, just to start on such a windows only task.
Some things I can't do on linux : netflix, certain software (a decent cad program, turbotax, sim city.
So finally getting it to work seamlessly with virtualbox is a big move up. No more rebooting and I have access to a windows task anytime I like.
A lot of my developers use WinXp or Win7 under some flavor of Linux or Mac running virtualbox mainly for IE testing and using a VPN client (easily) for our client.
A good success rate. I am a huge fan of VirtualBox especially prive point/performance on my Thinkpad W530 for development needs.
