Went out to get the mail this morning, and this big guy was there to say hello! Managed to wrangle him back into the bush without getting torn up..

Beautiful, it's a very lean meat so hot and fast is the way to cook it. It's a bit gamey but not too much. You can buy it in the supermarket as fillets or even kanga bangas (sausages)!
Is it commonly eaten there? Like, as commonly eaten as pork, chicken, and beef?

No, those meats are definitely more mainstream, But kangaroo has been on the market for a number of years now and it's slowly but surely gaining popularity. It's a much more sustainable meat as well, given the large population. It's commonly available in supermarkets and seems to sell quite well
