Guess what kind of wax I used on this white car?

Sarcastic wax? Hardy Har-Har paste? Laid on thick?

You completely missed my point. Which was how to make a boring, white car visually "pop". IE look glossy and add some depth.

I did figure it out....

Ding ding ding. We have winners.

The pictures were taken right after I had finished polishing. There was no wax/sealant/coating on the paint; it was "naked."

The point of this thread was to illustrate that the paint's appearance is going to be dependent on its condition and not the paint/sealant/coating that is on it. And if you are trying to make the paint look good with a sealant or wax, the "fillers" are always short-lived so the improvement will never be permanent.

While this particular car is not completely defect-free, I did do an additional refining step after Meguiars M205 to bring out the maximum gloss; M205 did not finish well enough for me. So those of you who only correct your car with Ultimate Compound should really take note...

This car was coated with Opti-Coat 2.0, so I needed all the gloss that I could get...because Opti-Coat 2.0 adds very little gloss to the paint.

What did you refine with after 205? HD Polish or a Menz product?

The white looks glossy!

It was HD Polish. Menzerna is a bit too oily to use before a coating, especially Opti-Coat.

Surprisingly, I was getting a tiny bit of streaking while applying Opti-Coat on some areas. This is a shocker since HD Polish isn't that oily, and I did two wipe-downs with a 40% IPA mix.

Going forward, I wonder if I should stick to Hyper Polish for all OC installs. I am not the biggest fan of how sticky it is to remove, but if it can guarantee that one has no issues....

Let's do this one:
what do I have on THIS white car? :

(can't capture well with iphone but the WHOLE car is glossy and looks wet it's dry) like the front fender where reflections are)
