Group V Synthetics with Joseph Star (ExxonMobil)

Not much Group V used currently in mainstream motor/engine oil is my take. I imagine cost may have something to do with it or it is overkill for 90% of applications and is unneeded. So save money and be adequately protected by omitting grp V is reasonable. These guys were talking more along the lines of change intervals and efficiency. High level group V in ICE applications nowadays is more about performance at the margins, heat mostly. I guess the most interesting takeaway is the endless possible end uses for group V with infinite Acid/Alcohol/Catalyst combinations going forward.

What company produces and all AN lube oil for parrenger cars?
There is no such thing as an all Group V passenger car oil. Group V, which incorporates many different types of base oils, are used in smaller quantities for certain specific properties and reasons.

XOM and King Industries are two suppliers of ANs.

I saw this comment in response to a comment about what base oils XOM is using in Triple Action being oxidation values are low.

"Alkylated naphthalene. Confirmed. Don't ask how I know."
