Q is made in USA, the bum thing is that weber warrants it for far less time than their other grills...

That's my problem. As much as I like to buy quality stuff, there's no way I'm spending anything close to $800 for a propane grill when my last
If US made, but yet inexpensive is important to you, check http://www.omcbbq.com/index.html A local home/hardware chain of mine sells their product line very reasonably, under $200 for several.

Have 3 grills that I use, a Kenmore 5 burner gas grill and 2 Weber charcoal grills, 22 and 26", the 26" gets the most use and it's the biggest charcoal grill made by Weber, the gas grill gets used on occasion but charcoal is my favorite, Best Taste and Flavor

Definitely like charcoal, and we have a weber. But gas is fast and convenient...

True! but I like the whole ritual of getting it all setup and kicking back with a cold one on the patio till the charcoal ashes over then it's showtime

I'm still using an 17yr old charcoal Hasty-Bake Ranger. Nothing beats charcoal for flavor. Using a charcoal chimney, I have coals in 10 min. I can cut that time in half by using a hair dryer. It's held up very well AND it's made in the USA.

maybe I need to revisit the charcoal option! We have one, I too love the ritual, but sometimes it is nice to have instant heat when trying to make dinner after work, in the dark, etc.

The wife bought me a Weber Genesis E310 for Father's Day last year. It replaced an ~9 year old Kenmore that was actually in pretty good shape (always kept indoors).

I can't say enough good things about the Genesis. Fantastic, if not pricey, gas grill. The price brings tremendous quality though. The grill is built like a tank. It weighs about as much too. Cooking on it is great. The temp is even and controlable. This is where the stamped burner grills fall on their face. I could probably use the Genesis as an oven and bake a cake in it. The hood is really well sealed, making low temp BBQ a set it and forget it affair. Another area cheap grills fail: the slightest breeze causes fits when trying to maintain a low temp.

My first advice for anyone looking at a gas grill is to look at the Weber Spirit line. The construction isn't as heavy as the Genesis, but it has the same warranty. Given the number of Weber users who've posted, both charcoal and gas, they're pretty good about service.

spirit is made in china. A non starter for me. The Genesis is on my list, but at 60" wide and the sides not foldable, It has a bit more "stance" than I want. I like to put the grill under a cover and it to be compact and out of the way. I dont want it to be a fashion statement.

Just a cheap steak from Hy-Vee grocery store.

Prep - None other then removing a small piece of fat.

Cooking Time - With grill set to Medium, cook each side 4-minutes,THEN flip over for 3-minutes on low, again each side, then cut and serve.

Taste - awsome! Easy to cut, tender and juicy,as you can see in the photo.

I bought a Weber Q120 last fall and so far IHate it!
It seems to take forever to get up to temperature, cooking is very slow, and will not even burn off fat etc.

I thought it might be the small tank, so I bought a conversion kit to run off a cyl
But it's no better.

I'll give a good clean one evening and give one more go, if not it's going on Craig's list.

So what made you buy an Aussie in the first place ?

My Mrs bought me a Brinkmann a while ago, and it was the worst $400 she ever spent

It was a gift from long ago (2006).

When I spend my money, I avoid Chinese stuff.

You need a new regulator. Contact Weber and they'll send you a new one in the mail. A Q120 should come up to temperature in about 5 minutes from stone cold.

Not sure you want to burn off fat. Charred fat is a carcinogen.

You want to cook your meat, not burn it!

I would probably junk it.

A good quality charcoal grill will last you a lifetime.

I have the same Charbroil I've had since college, and the same little Weber Kettle for at least twenty years.

I also have a couple of these propane fired Charbroil Tru Infrareds (one at each house) but haven't used them much, yet. They seem to work well the few times I've bbq'ed on them. They are made in China.

If you want another propane grill, you might want to take a look at these. Still, I prefer charcoal.

Thank you!

I cleaned the grill today ( it had to be hand cleaned, it would not get hot enough to char the residue and self clean) After I assembled the grill I fired it up to dry things. It was taking 4-5 mins on high for steam to come off the grate!!

I contacted Weber customer service.
They insisted the grill was not at fault. They said the problem was with the Tank.
They said the problem was with the lage tank conversion kit.
It was only by insisting that I had changed to a large tank, ONLY because the BBQ would not heat on a small, disposable tank, that they asked for the serial #
THEN they admitted there was a recall, and my grill needs a replacement regulator

A new reg is in the post to me.

I have never had such a bad time with companies customer service!***
The guy was getting pretty darn rude before admitting there was a recall
I'm not feeling good about Weber right now, but I hope with the new reg, I might learn to love it like others here.

***Not exactly true, I did once have a problem with ARx
