Grease for PTO cable on tractor.

Happy Friday everyone. The PTO engage/ disengage cable on my tractor needs greased. Both ends have rubber boots, but the end that is under the tractor is notorious for collecting crud supposedly.

What grease should I use? I would think a spray would be more ideal. Thanks.

Motorcycle cable lube

Bel-Ray Super Clean Chain Lubricant is motorcycle chain lubricant. It is a lubricant/rust preventive. It's in an aerosol package. Spray it on and let it dry. When dry it's non-greasy and non-oily and doesn't attract dirt. When first applied it will likely penetrate the cable but I'm not sure of this.
