The radiator upgrade is a good call. I’m honestly shocked at how thin, and insubstantial, the core on either of them are. An inch? That’s it?
I just replaced the radiator in my wife’s SL - the core was about three inches thick and the radiator had a bunch of air ducting, above, below, and to the sides, to ensure good flow through the fan.
Granted, that car makes a lot of heat, but it was clearly built to manage a lot heat.
