I just purchased a RPi 3B+ off amazon with the AmazonBasics wireless keyboard and mouse. Intention is to stick the RPi behind a wall mounted TV and just have the power cable running down from behind it. Well. Its junk. The mouse has unbearable lag. I'd guess about quarter to half second. Im looking on amazon and I see a few under $40 that have great reviews but are some wierd chinesium brands Ive never heard of. Im suspicious they are false reviewed to get the stars up.
Looking for suggestions of stuff that people have actually used.

are you sure the lag is from the keyboard and mouse? IIRC those computing units have the equivalent of a hamster in a cage for a processor.

After tossing some sort of GUI on it.. might not be the most responsive.

I felt my RPi was simply a toy. I tried using as NAS but too slow.

Anything GUI it was erratic. I hope your experience is better.

Its fine with a different mouse. That was my inital suspect as well, but it performs well. Its the newest model with 1.4GHz quad.
This is why I was hesitant to go wireless again. Ive never had it work worth beans. But the situation basically requires it unless I want to string a long usb cable up the celing and back down to the couch. Which would be just silly.

RPi should have wireless lag, I never got it with a Pi Zero W and a logitech wireless mouse. And the Pi Zero is as basic as it gets.

I have 3 RPis doing various things. Wonderful little devices.
