Honda K20Z3. I prefer something that can be sourced locally and not mail ordered (Amsoil, Redline, Motul) in 5W30 or 0W30. I've heard some things about Eneos that sound good, but I don't care if I buy Valvoline or Pennzoil if the data supports it and the price to performance ratio is more favorable. I currently use Castrol Syntec 5W30.

Any suggestions?

when you are over 7k rpms high detergent oil tends to foam up. i would go with a synthetic race oil and short ocis.
redline, Royal Purple, and amsoil make good races oils. if your sustaining rpms, like holding 7-8k for a longer time, i would step up the grade some like a Xw40. some places in an engine can reach 500+ deg when racing and those hot spots tend to break down oil

I would check out either GC or M1 0w40, both have been tested in our Si's and both have been shown to be excellent choices

Any decent synthetic should work.

If you're really interested in finding the best, that'll take some time and money. Are you willing to spend at least $60 every few thousand miles, trying a different oil every other oil change, until you find it?

+1 and I would add Amsoil or Redline to the list if you want to spend the $$. The GC and the M1 Go on sale all the time at Autozone and usually come with a decent filter. The Redline is pricey but is really shear stable, something you want out of a race oil, but can be used for everyday driving as well.

This guy seems to do pretty well with Amsoil ASL 5w30, and judging from his YouTube videos, he works it pretty hard.

edit...you should be able to obtain Amsoil locally unless you live on top of a mountain in Montana.

I can't obtain Amsoil locally.

Well, kinda, but not without ordering through a small time shop in town that carries SOME Amsoil products(0w-20 but no SSO!!!).

That being said, this person should go with whatever good syn they can get their hands on. I find RP is good for anything that requires pulling a load, but under these conditions if they can't obtain Amsoil, go with Mobil1 or RedLine(only if racing though).

Just become a preferred customer and get AMSOIL wholesale. That is the best deal going. And it shows up at your door in 2 days. Buy a 5 gallon jug and your good for 2 years. I don't get it. Instant gratification I guess. I read alot and not only do you save money shopping online for AMSOIL but you font have to drive and get it. You don't have to waste your time going to get it. I am baffled. Rp has moly in it and being a member here has taught me the pros and cons of that stuff. I put in an order every 6 months then I get to tinker on the weekends and admire my stock with all those pretty colours on em. And the air filters are second to none. I love AMSOIL. Great stuff. Not sure about the vitamins idea but hey gotta try to expand somehow. Just go with the AMSOIL deal and enjoy all your saved time

Whats wrong with valvoline? i vouch for that. bet it'd show better uoa than royal purple too.

they also make a very good race oil that is readily available at many retailers....

my choice would be valvoline syn power or valvoline race

Mobil 1. One of they few oils you can buy off the shelf that has the high temperature deposit control of a racing oil. PU and Edge would work well too. Amsoil is a great choice but you have to order it.

5w30 dino with an API Starburst IIRC, which is why I was going to say it doesn't make much sense to leap racing oils. Any plain-Jane synthetic xw-30 is likely to be overkill; there's no reason for the sacrifices of a synthetic race oil.

Any votes of Ultra? Recommended by a high revving Ferrari, but yet thats just their advertisement. Though Ferrari does recommend much thicker weight than 5w30.

CZ-75- You have given is no info as to what the car is used for. Is it race only on weekends? is it a daily driver that ocassionally does an autocross? After looking at these recommendations, I don't think they answer the question of what is the primary use of this honda. IMO you would want a different oil for either application. FWIW--Oldtommy
