Good looking sealant instead of wax

For an over the counter product, I would go with 3M Performance Finish. For online ordering I would go with Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection or an apply-and-walkaway kind like Optimum Optiseal or Ultima Paint Guard Plus.

I don't have Optiseal, but I have a small 4 oz bottle of Ultima and used it 20+ times and still have half a bottle. It's really easy to use and it holds up well after a few layers. You pretty much just wipe it on and leave it. No need to wipe off. It's easy enough that I use it after every wash which is about every 1-2 months for me. It looks especially nice on lighter colors (i.e. silver, white, gray).

I use Four Star strictly for looks since it doesn't last for more than a few months.

How bout the good ole Klasse twins, all in one and sealant glaze? They are both extremely easy to use, look good and sealant glaze will last almost a year if done properly. Even better the duragloss twins, 501 all in one finished with 105 TPP. The 501 is a great paint cleaner and the 105 will last almost a year if done properly as well. Those two combos are probably the easiest, longest lasting sealant products you can use. They are availble at almost any online detailing shop (I prefer autogeek.net) faily cheap and they give good results.

I personally don't bother with any of them. Currently my vehicles get throughly washed in dish soap, clayed, and then waxed in collinite 476s (2 coats). I wash using duragloss 901 car wash every few weeks in between my full detailings and that is it. The paint is very clean, looks great, has the warm golden glow of carnuba and is VERY well protected. Dirt, grime, bugs, bird droppings and tar usually rinse off for the most part or wash off very easily when it is time to wash. The best news about all this is I only have to clay and wax once a year! It doesn't get any cheaper or easier than that if you ask me

None of those will give long lasting protection like the op is looking for. You are lucky to get 2 months out of NXT and the new Ultimate is not much better and the spray wax last 1 week...and none of these are SEALANTS that the op is looking for, but the NXT comes close - just doesn't last.

I challenge the notion that Spray Wax last only a week. I have constantly gotten 4-6+ weeks out of a spray wax application with UQW.

I'm sorry - but there is no way I can believe 4-6 weeks of UQW protection....and I use it regularly as a maintenance. Perhaps you are seeing the results of your wax?? I can see after a good wax job and using Ultimate Quik wax that you will see 4-6 weeks but if the ONLY product on your car is a quick wax then no way. One week yes - more than that you need to use traditional waxes.

Believe what you will, I am sharing my experience. On one vehicle last year I used exclusively UQW to give it a real good test. I went 4 weeks and it was still beading water like mad.

Now I do use a TW Zip Wax wash , so that may influence as well as UQD in between washes. But I'm trying to get across is today's quality spray waxes are much improved and can act as a stand alone product and offer excellent shine and protection for multiple weeks.

Is water beading the only confirmation of protection? If so, even carnauba waxes can last several months by that definition.

To me, a wax is only "active" if the surface is feeling excessively slick. Once that slickness wears away (to only being smooth), the product is "dead" in my book.

With those standards, I have yet to have a wax/sealant last more than 1 month or a spray wax last more than several days.

I agree that spray waxes don't last a long time, though I could see someone using it once or twice a week and it lasting for months because of the multiple applications. I clay, polish, seal and wax my vehicles every 6 months and not only are they still beading but the paint remains very smooth to the touch. I use Duragloss 501 and Collinite 845. I also use a waterless wash about once a week (sometimes twice if we get rain). I am currently using Griot's, which probably contains some wax. I really like the product but decided to try Ultimas Waterless Wash Plus since on Autogeeker everyone raves about it.

I was like you when I tried it. It's stupid simple to apply and remove, IMO. Now it is my go to wax. When I finish up using the 476s, I'm not going to buy anymore and just use 2 layers of the 845. If I notice a durability drop, I might reconsider.

When it comes to vehicle appearance/detailing, I really like reading your comments. Let us know your long term thoughts sometime.

It is one of the few products I haven't tried.

Zaino All In One is simply the best product I have ever tried.

NO MODERN SEALANT IS HARMFUL TO PAINT. THOSE SILICONE HAVE LONG BEEN BANNED. WAX IS DEAD, SEALANT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO..

I like many Zaino products, but the AIO isn't one of them. Used it on my bike and I didn't like the look or the durability..

Black Fire Wet Diamond is supposed to look incredible and last a long time. I have a free sample of it,but I haven't applied it yet. It gets raves on various forums I visit, and it looks really good in the pics I've seen. It ain't cheap though.
