I am interested in seeing which full flow filter you would recommend to run with the OilGuard bypass filter in a 7.3L PSD.

Thanks,

I personally use an EaO filter with my OilGuard bypass (I got the OilGuard before the EaO filters came out). Yes, the EaO is probably overkill with an OilGuard. But my theory is that it doesn't hurt, and the EaO actually costs less than the filter elements for the OilGuard. So why not let the extra good full flow filtration in the EaO extend the life of the OilGuard filter element some? At least that's my theory about it.

However, since I don't know what "PSD" is an abbreviation for, I also can't lookup to see if they make an EaO filter for your vehicle.

I just asked elsewhere "What is the largest full flow filter I can put on my 1999 F-350 7.3?"

In addition to that question, I guess I should ask if the EaO is a better choice than just a larger filter?

I take it that the EaO cost quite a bit more than a standare off the shelf parts store deal. So, what's the best/ biggest inexpensive filter for the truck? What's a good source to get an EaO for a reasonable price to my door?

I have an oil change coming up, so maybe I can make the change soon to either just a bigger run of the mill filter or the Eao, if the cost is not dramatic.

Does not appear to be a bigger filter available for that engine. Jeez, that filter is already huge. I like the Mobil 1 #601 extended life filter for that engine. Seems to me a high quality filter for about $10 through AAP. EaO99 from Amsoil will set you back about $20 with tax and shipping if you are a preferred customer. If you are a regular retail guy, you'll be paying more than $25 with tax and shipping, that's if you are ordering more than just one filter.

Although it's bigger, the micron rating is in the trash can. Especially with a PS diesel with oil actuated injectors ..I'd go with the 51734XE.

I don't know how much variation in gasket size you have with a PS in terms of allowance..but theres a good bit there.
