Golf course employee dies when his cart sinks in a canal

Some reporting is that it was one of those vehicles with a cage to protect workers from flying golf balls, like I remember seeing in Tin Cup where they were collecting range balls with a mechanism attached to the cart. Sounds like he could have been trapped where he couldn't manage to open the door.



 
Oh man... what a horrible way to go. RIP and wishing his family peace and financial security.

How do you drive a golf cart into a canal? Maybe he had a heart attack or stroke and then went into the canal

It's 36 holes and several of them are on either side of the canal. There's no fence. Kind of reminds me of how a National Park Service worker mowing the grass at the Blue Ridge Parkway fell off the side and died.
