Use in chainsaws and weed whackers. Is JASO FD the latest and greatest in mixing your own moonshine? Supposedly this brand, VP Fuels, has one years worth of preventing fuel breakdown. Thnaks.

Used with ethanol free fuel its a good combo.
Which is saying no Thnaks to the moonshine(ethanol) ;)

Echo redarmor is one of my favorite 2 cycle oils, but last 3 bottles were vp racing at half the price.... Walmart clearance all the VP racing in the fall.
Got a ton of the quart cans of fuel for a dollar too.
 
I still run Mobil 1 Racing 2T, but have some stihl
Oil I run sometimes too.

At my other property where I have an echo trimmer I just get a quart of their red armor premix, or the same generic stuff. It lasts me a year because I don’t have much to trim.
 
Why do you say that? I make up 1 gallon at a time and use it all season. I've never had any issues, but I always shake the gas can before pouring anyways.

It biodegrades once mixed with gas. It's also only FB rated.

I let my chainsaw sit for 2 years with e0 pump gas and red armor 2 stroke oil. It fired right up when I needed it.
I wish we had E0 pump gas around here, for my customers that don't use their 2-cycle equipment very often I usually recommend they just buy the ethanol free fuel in cans. I recommend the VP racing over the Trufuel, and haven't tried the Echo canned fuel yet.
 
Yeah canned e0 gas is better than e10.
I got can of trufuel just to try it, yeah it sux. I dumped out my weed eater and the rest of the trufuel into my riding lawnmower. The riding lawnmower didn't seem to mind having some 50:1 trufuel.
 
We can search for the world's best 2 stroke oil, and hope it provides some additional protection. But then insist on mixing it at 2 or 3 ounces per gallon, which is known to those of us who have tested oils, to increase wear rates.

In our testing of high performance outboard engines, 32 to 1 provided full protection, wear increased slightly at 50 to 1 and dramatically as we moved towards 80/100 to 1. Peak HP was produced at 8 to 1, and 16 to 1 was the most practical racing ratio.

Kart engines needed even more oil, (generally about 24 to 1) due to RPM related rapid oil migration issues through the crankcase, and the same was seen with very high RPM chainsaw engines.

I am comfortable with just about any name brand EG-D oil and always mix at 32 to 1. (4 ounces per gal)
 
Been a big fan of Echo Red Armor, premixed with E0 87 @ 32:1 in my older OPE. I've also used Stihl Ultra, Mobil1 2T, and VP Racing oils, all with good results. Have a couple newer pieces and still use the Red Armor, but @ ~45-50:1 depending on outside temps. Have tried canned fuels including the Echo Red Armor 50:1. TruFuel, both 40 & 50:1, absolutely sucked and caused crappy running in my gear. VP (Husqvarna) was good but more expensive. The Red Armor made the biggest difference and all ran like butter with highest RPMs registered. Considering the canned Red Armor when the quart of pre-mix oil runs out since I have less 2 stroke pieces now and canned fuel makes sense with stabilizers, metal de-activators and 93 octane base fuel. My available E0 is only 87 and everything runs better on the higher octane fuel.
 
Amsoil Sabre has been the cheapest for me. Cheaper than even Supertech I think. Buy in the quart bottle. My chainsaw seemed to do better with it than even Stihl.
I’m not a big Amsoil fan boy either. I use whatever has a good quality to price ratio.
