I had a sensor stuck at 31psi on my 08 Lucerne but now its coming up with a "Service Tire Pressure Monitoring System" so I'm assuming it went bad. I do have a VXDAS EL-50448 coming from Amazon I ordered when it was still reading -- so I will try that first but I'm guessing that one is bad. They were all new a year ago when I bought the car so I'm not going to replace them all, just the bad one.

My question is I want to stay with OE but does it really matter if I get it at the dealer or amazon. I'm showing this part number 13586335 but when I search rock auto with that number 13598771 comes up instead so I'm guessing it's a newer version.

Am I wasting money getting this thru Amazon or should I pay the dealership? Some of the reviews are pretty good.

Those are an EXACT copy of the ones we use at Walmart. For $30 Walmart will do it. On top of that you have to have the tool to do it. You could probably DIY and save the $5 and see if walmart would program it for you for free. Im sure they would.

I remember my boss saying those are big money makers. Walmart only pays like $5 for them.

I purchased those exact TPMS sensors through Amazon for my 2008 Chevy Avalanche when I bought all new wheels and tires in 2017. You are correct, the part number is different due to it being a newer version. All 4 have worked perfectly for me without issues.

Make sure it comes sealed in a GM bag, as apparently there are knockoff TPMS sensors out there that have OEM markings. If you order it directly from Amazon and not a third party seller, you should have no issues.

Does wally have any kind of warranty on those?

If I purchased the one from Amazon what would wally charge to install it, from what I've read those come programmed and just need a relearn.

Unfortunately we had a lot of rain yesterday and ended up with some water in the basement so I spent last evening cleaning it up and didn't get a chance to use the relearn tool I got yesterday and going in to have a wisdom tooth out in the morning so it may be a few days before I can see if resetting the system works.
