Well as the gas goes to $1.34 per litre, looks like i'll be using this darn gas bar coupons for the SuperStore. 6c off a litre.

I am very depressed.

DINO NO,

I can usnderstand your pain. :-( Over here in California you know I pay the highest price in the country. My buddy buys his gas from Sam's club and myself use Costco brand with No ill effects although I admit I put/use Chevron's Techrolene as an additive to supplement the gas. The only way you'll know is too try it.

All gas is generic. It may get special additives added at the terminal. There's been very little true branding of gasoline for a long time. I think BP and Sunoco started the trend in the late 70's. BP supplied Sunoco retailers in California/west coast ..and Sunoco supplied BP retailers over here.

Gary,

What you stated is true as far as what I hear. All gas is the same until they get their own separate additive package at the terminal. Over here in California "Generic" gas is also sometimes more higher than the branded gasolines. Regardless I for now would rather use what-ever the most inexpensive gas is available and put in my own additives like "Techron" and such. It's the only way that works out for me and protect my cars.

I do what Durango does. Cheapest and use my own additives...currently, FP3000. I'm not saving money in the long run, unless the FP3000 really keeps the vehicle significantly cleaner. The spark plugs and UOA's seem to indicate very clean conditions for an automobile (actually two), a motorcycle, and a lawnmower.

Titan, Freeze12,

Just like myself that what I do. However depending on how much you burn per week you both may only need to add your favorite additives one per month or at the most every other week. Remember the Feds mandate a minimum amount of addites anyway. Once per month will keep your pocket filled more often AND will still keep the system in great running order.
Today in Los Angeles the general price per gallon came down a couple of cents which spured numerious radio news chatter about our priceing peaking. Corss your fingers as the most expensive I've seen is still about $3.89!!!!! Really stupid.

How the fuel supply chain works depends where you live, there is no rule. Here we basically get 10% eth fuel, or 0% eth. Some brands here use a trademarked detergent additive, others a generic additive, it's all made to do the same thing. I have a vapor pressure gauge that I test my race fuels with and have tried it on various pump fuels. They are all pretty much the same. Chevron and now texaco trademarked detergent shows blue on my plug reads, all other pink. May just be a dye, but it is different. I buy the cheapest fuel that's not 10% eth, and trust they have enough additive in it.

in X town where I live.. they have to truck all gas to the stations, and it happens to be that chevron gets their gas from petro canada.
