Looking for a good oil to settle on for the following gasoline engines

Probably with 5000-6000 OCI

Chevy 5.3 V8 10,000 miles now driven about 5000 miles per year with some towing

Chevy 3.4 V-6 28,000 miles now. I know about the suspect intake gaskets and keep a close eye on the coolant bottle level but do not do oil analysis, this car is the commuter car getting about 90-100 miles per workday. Has used Chevron supreme 10W30, Pennzoil, mobil 1 10W30 and now has GC 0W30, mileage might be up about 0.5 mpg with GC over the dino 10W30's

Honda 2.2 4 cylinder non-VTEC in an Odyssey minivan (microvan?) used for family driving since it holds the baby stuff well. Currently in first AutoRX rinse phase, will start second AutoRX soon.

Ford 2.5 V-6 68,000 miles Been on Mobil 1 5W30 its whole life.

Prices for me are

GC 4.99/qt
BC 4.99/qt
M1 5W40 $21/5qt
Rotella $14/4qt

I am including Rotella since I have a diesel engine too and if it would work well in the gasoline engines might settle on the HDEO for all.

Thanks!!

Rotella 5w40 syn has no issues being run in my 94 camry and 95 accord.

I use rotella every other oil change to give it a nice wallop of detergent power.

My two better vehicles get GC, 2001 Celica GT-S and 2005 Scion tC. I like the fact that it's ester based and high 30 weight.

Id run GC in the engines specced for 30 wt oils... except the 5.3, where Id likely run M1 5w-40, though given your mileage, rotella is surely the best bang for the buck.

Id save $$$ on the commuter, use LC to extend OCIs, and use the money saved between using dino and extending drains to purchase UOA, to ensure the engine lasts.

JMH

I prefer Mobil products in general over the ones listed but I would also have no real issue with Rotella-T 5W40. I think that Mobil TSUV 5W40 is a better product. Here in the USA Rotella-T Synthetic is $13 for 4 quarts and TSUV is $23 for 5 quarts. So from time to time either my Dad or I will use it due to price. I have never had an issue with it just remeber that it GII and GIII so you are getting a less but the price reflects this. TSUV is a diesel approved oil!

John Browning, you maintain a pushrod GM 3800 V6 don't you?

Would you use Rotella 5W40 in that engine? I am asking that in reference to the 5.3 V8 and 3.4 v6 that I maintain.

Thanks!
