3.659/gallon for regular tonight in Franklin, TN. It has been there for a few weeks now. I guess they don't want to drop the price because they will raise it up to $4 for memorial day weekend.

$3.65 here. A little bit higher than 3-4 weeks ago when $3.49. I guess more exciting to worry and monger fear in media.

If that "big hit" takes place you can kiss the US economy good bye. Welcome in the next depression, it will make the original depression of 33 look like a cake walk.

Gas will be at least 8$/ gallon and as much as 10 $.

Peyton Manning got dumped by the Colts. It's all in the media now. after it blows over, the gas price shock will resume.

Maybe that will spur us to start looking at alternative energy sources that are available right here in the United States.

Gas prices won't get that high in our lifetimes. The economy simply can't support prices that high....

Our current situation is bad enough that alternatives should be more sought after than they are. We need affordable and abundant alternatives, and we need them now. Why wait until our economy has been completely destroyed by gas prices?

This is why (IMHO) the plans are to do it AFTER the elections.

I think that most of the alternatives have been wrung out of the system by the pump and dump cycles over the last 15 years.

Every time prices reach the point that emerging technologies start to emerge, the legs are cut out from beneath them by a sudden crash

They need to find ways of making alternatives less expensive, not just waiting until the price of what we have now goes higher. Alternatives do us no good if they aren't affordable....

If your agenda includes destroying the conventional way of life here, then this is the perfect storm....

We silly Americans. We've had almost 40 years to wean ourselves off the oil tit teat.

Gas up 16 Cents a gallon today.

It looks like it leverages the stock market. Stocks go down, things look a little shaky... down goes gas prices!

Things look better, stocks go up, up goes the gas!

The Scam has us over a barrel (of oil).

You can say "tit" on here? Not for long I bet

. I think you meant teat but I'm certainly in no position to correct anyone with my terrible typing lol. I wouldn't seriously correct anyone on here anyway

It definitely is a trading "scam". Maybe gas would still be around $3/gal based on real supply and demand without the speculation mark up, but that's still way better than pushing $4/gal or more. Especially when the price of so many other things are affected by oil prices.

Please, go back in your bunker and put your tin-foil hat back on.

On the news tonight they were talking about who the traders are buying the oil for. Apparently us. Insurance companies and mutual funds. Own a life insurance policy? Have a retirement account? We're all speculators.
