hope this works...read the thread at the top on how to post the results. ok what did i do wrong. i clicked the # sign. opened my pdf from blackstone, saved as text file, copied the text, but it didn't post right. first ever UOA...saturns are known to burn oil, mine seems to only need about .5 quarts per 4k miles

until now, past 27k miles had been g-oil at 3k intervals

3000 miles on an ester based oil? Stretch it out a bit. Sure you probably got it free after rebate but why not have it really pay off.

i didn't know it had changed formulas. on saturnfans someone mentioned that i must have gotten the bottle with a racecar on it(which is the new forumla). how can you tell it is 20 weight now?

i am pretty sure it did have a racecar on it

^i went like 8 shy of 4k miles. when i went 3k, it was because i wasn't sure how good this stuff was and my previous saturn burned lots of oil

Great report. +3 on stretching the interval. It did test a bit thin but wear metals are low. Keep it full, go 5-6k and test again I say. Is this a Blackstone report or another lab? Any lab comments?

blackstone. here are the comments:

JOSH: Everything in this first analysis of oil from your Saturn 1.9L engine looks kosher. Universal averages
show typical wear levels for this type of engine after about 5,000 miles on the oil. This oil wasn't in use that
long, and not surprisingly, wear metal accumulation was very low and in the right balance to show normally
wearing parts in this engine. The 4.8 TBN shows plenty of oil additive still active, as a 1.0 reading is the low
cutoff mark for extended oil use. No moisture, coolant, or excess fuel found its way into the oil. Try going up
to 6,000 miles on your next oil run.

Excellent. Sure it sheared a bit but who cares? Clearly hasn't affected anything in a negative way plus it probably means you're getting slightly better gas mileage.

you are welcome. i'm glad to know whether this stuff is ok or not. i hate i was changing it out at 3k. i'd still have 2 or 3 jugs left probably had i known
