Fuel System Cleaners

Even if I didn't stock it I would buy ( and buy for my kids' cars in the states) Techron. I've improved gas mileage from up to 58%, eliminated a $300 per 3 month repair on my wife's BMW, and took all the carbon out of my Grand Cherokee allowing me to run regular gas at a savings of $25 a tank.

I've had very good success with Techron, but I use it primarily because it's more readily avaialable than BG-44K.

I have a good supply of RedLine, running low on other stuff that I do not believe in, wondering what to replace it with. Apart from RedLine, what is recommended, keeping in kind I'm in Canada and have never heard of BG-44K, not sure I've seen Outlaw in Manitoba, and really doubt Techron is sold around here.
I have great respect for MoleKule and am inclined to follow his home batch. Would someone post or PM as to getting FP, Neutra, and Outlaw in Manitoba, please??
Thanks
Rob

Wow, someone here knows of BG.
Although I saw no real Gas milage or real Performance per se (in a way but not) with
the 44k a cheaper alternate is their "superchargerII" part #202, I think though this one is not sold in the stores only to the mechanic shops... I like their EFI cleaner, and their coolant flush.

I recently used both techron and redline. I wonder what happens to this stuff. Is it burned in cylinders or does it go to the crankcase oil? The oil is rather dark after these treatments.

Would you adjust this with hot or cold temps (Manitoba winters)?
What would you store the 'home brew' in?
Anyone know of a reseller of Outlaw in Canada? Or something more available in Canada that is 'the next best thing'??
Thanks MoleKule, I'm going to make a batch!

I recently completed a 5000 mile roadtrip through the backroads of the mountain states. As mentioned in other threads, my car uses some oil and since it was packed to the gills with camping gear and other stuff I didn't want to keep an open container of M1 in the trunk (those things leak even BEFORE they're open

). So I went to the camping/outdoor store and bought an aluminum bottle intended for stove fuel. These come with a plastic screw top that has a nice heavy petro-compatible o-ring and a mouth diameter that makes pouring easy. Worked great; I'll never carry oil in the standard container again.

hth,
Robert

My vote is for Techtron too, It was recommended to me by 2 different mechanics I trust & the results are noticable. Aint cheap though.

As far as I know the techron is used only in the fuel. Or you can just run several tanks of Chevron gas as it has it in there.
The redline if it is what I'm thinking, and I don't recall th name You can use it both (but READ the LABEL first).

And if the oil is darker then GOOD, it actually cleaned some gunk, either use it on a regular basis or use it as a scheduled maintenance program.

I store the brew in old plastic bottles such as the Fuel Power bottles, which I believe are PET plastic. The metal can suggestion is good as well.

No adjustment for winter needed.

Walmart is the best place in the US for Techron. It's not cheap as a bottle, but since it goes in every 10 or 12 tanks, it amounts to only about 50 cents a tank. Here a lot of people put less-effective or non-effective additives in every tank at $2 a bottle. I can tell you from experience that although it is hard to convince someone to try it, once they have been using it they get furious when it isn't available.

I HAVE heard of it, but I don't believe I've seen it up here.
Thanks

They used to sell it at Walmarts here but I haven't seen it in a while.
