I'm getting my '10 Mini Cooper's oil/filter changed for it's winter storage tomorrow. The storage will probably be for around three (3) months or so. I also plan to fill the fuel tank. I use Chevron gasoline.

Question, do I need to add a fuel stabilizer in the tank for just three (3) month's of storage?

Thanks

Yes I would use "Stabil" or any other popular stabilizer. The ethanol in today's gas can separate and cause you major headaches. Cheap insurance.

I've finally used Sta-bil on my 1986 Chevrolet Caprice with it's LM1 350 ci 2nd gen chevy small block that came from a 9C1 cop car and Rochester quadrajet carburetor that came from a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 442 and the results are so good that there shocking. I've had the car in storage for over 5 years and it's had the same Mobil 1 10w30 high milage synthetic oil all this time I'm planning to change it very soon (like within the next week). Sta-Bil is amazing ...

And yes the previos poster explaining about the ethanol is absolutely correct just like it says on the pump at the gas station "may contain as much as %10 ethanol" and it causes rust in fuel tanks and can cause all kinds of damage to fuel sytem components. Basically there putting moonshine in the gas

Somewhere in this sea of gloating there's advice.

Been using the blue marine sta-bil for the bikes, generator and OPE with no negative effects so far, so I'll keep using it.
