Frontier Communications--What an irritating joke!

For about the last year and a half, we have had Frontier Communications as our land line provider. We ended up with them by default when Verizon sold off their land line business.
Since the transition, it apparently is not enough to have land line service with them and pay the bill promptly every month. Apparently, it is standard operational procedure to pester the {self Censored} out of all their customers, regardless of whether they went to talk to them or not.
Seems the telemarketing guys are not meeting their quotas (or so it seems.) This week, I have been called Monday Night, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and twice tonight. I started by very politely telling them that I am not interested, and every time after that I have politely requested that they not call back. By tonight, I am totally sick and tired of it and respond to them tersely. They then have the audacity to call back a second time and start in again.
Guess that my patronage really is not appreciated. As much as I really don't need the PITA of dealing with this right now, I guess that I'm calling Time Warner tomorrow.

I've got them too. Not had any calling problems but I don't answer the 8xx calls anyway.

But the phone went dead last week and it was very hard to report the outage online. Finally found a link to write a ticket.

what kind of calls are you having? Surveys/Offers FROM Frontier Communications...? If that's the case, those are gonna be hard to "get out of"......

Other than that, put your number on the Do Not Call list.....so far, I've had good luck with it....ocasiionally we get "wrong number" calls for people that don't live here anymore, but that's about it...

But yea, the Do Not Call Registry will NOT save you from surveys, advertisements, political [censored], etc. from companies you are "affiliated" or have "ties" with....i.e.: it gives your bank permission to contact you for offers....since you have business ties.

BUT, if you "request" to be put on their do not call list, they have to honor it...simply hanging up is the wrong thing to do.....you must politely request your number be put on their do not call list.

I politely requested this on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings of this week. These are sales calls for additional services. I fully understand that I am stuck with these calls because I am a customer and the "Do Not Call" list which we have been on for years does not prevent this.
However being called six times in five consecutive evenings is nothing less than harassment, IMO. Guess to get them off my butt, I need to change service providers and then I am protected by the "DNC" list. At least TWC leaves me the heck alone as one of their cable customers.

Free number from Google, or port your current number for $25.
No other fees, free long distance.

Mine is running on DSL, but it will work with any broadband. Call quality is crystal clear.

I spent $44 one time, that's it. Works with Detec 6.0 wireless phone.

Better yet, the phone number will follow your anywhere you move, it is truly unlisted, and Google automatically rejects telemarketers' calls. Voice mails are sent to your cell phone as text, if you want them.

Hmmm...

Weird. We have FTR and have never been hassled, service is rock solid. I was thinking about getting rid of the land line, so I called them and said so, but could they cut me a deal that includes long distance for a FAX machine. We ended up with a better package for less than we were paying before.

Full disclosure: I just sold all my FTR shares.

I used Skype (VOIP) on the similar connection and it worked for me.

The only sure proof way to see if Obi device will work for you, that I know of, is to download Google Chat or Skype, or MS chat and used to talk with someone.

PS Google phone number is free in 2012. Nobody knows if they will charge later on. I was paying $20+tax a month to AT&T for the land line. I figured in 2 months Obi paid for itself and for the remaining 10 months I'll save money. If Google starts charging in 2013, so be it. It can not be more that Ma Bell.

PM me for more info, if you want to.

My service switched to Frontier at the same time when Verizon quit.

I've got our land line and High Speed internet service with them. I have unlimited calling anywhere in No. America. I get a discount for being a disabled Veteran and experienence no problems.

Totally satisified!
