I shined a flashlight down the center tube before I bought all of them, all are wirebackes regardless of what the packaging says.I am worried for you friend, while it appears that you have many of the REAL Ultras with wire backed media but what about those other ones? To have received any First Branded fake Ultras with the cardboard media is to receive a curse, seriously I heard that gypsies are starting to peddle these on the street now and they'll shank you![]()
I maintain a "fleet" of vehicles, this is only 7 years worth of filters in the absolute best case scenario. 10 years if I go outside of my comfort zone. I've cut open a fair amount of vintage fram oil filters 20-45 years old and none of them had rust in the cans or problems with glue or media.I think you started it! One thing I won't hoard are filters. Maybe by 4-6 filters for the two vehicles at a time.
A hoard that big would take me decades to use and I'd be worried the media would degrade over that time.
3 stores, but you can still get OG fram ultra xg8a on Amazon. How many stores did you have to hit to find all the OG Ultras?
I don't plan on selling anything anytime soon, if you average out the years of my vehicles they have a average age of 44 years old. My daily driver is a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis.God forbid you sell your car and they switch filters? Like the new H/K cars.
