I wouldn't use it...how are you going to put it all back together now? LOL

On a more serious note, as mentioned before, I have used FRAM's and their economy version Defense filters several hundred times without a problem...ever! Or any other brand for that matter...
Wix, Motorcraft, Powerflo by Purolator and so on. Just recently tried NAPA, so far so good!

ToughGuard looks to me to be an OCOD element with a silicone ADBV. That screen over the bypass valve seems like a gimmick...if there were any chunks large enough that the screen caught them, then you had much bigger problems to worry about.

I rank the TG one very small step above the DoubleGuard and the High Mileage. The Ultra is the only filter that's worth anything at all.

Yessssirreee Bob---continue to use the 14610 with it's 40 (FORTY, 4-T, 4-ZERO) micron filtering ability, when the TG provides much better filtration.....makes me laugh

I've never had a lick of trouble out of a Fram, and yes I cut them open afterwards. The Toughgard is a pretty darn good filter, but it should be 4 to 5 bucks at most IMO.

My last UOA with the dreaded OCOD had insolubles at only .2 . They work.

I will NOT use anything e-core. And I prefer Motorcrafts.

My experience with the TG series filters on my jeep are 2 summers ago I ran a standard size TG16 with synthetic 5w-40 and had no problems. This winter I got an over sized TG8A for free and Running it now with 5w30. Although the engine makes no knock at start up like I have experienced with same sized P1(30001) filters in winter, the fram presents its own problem. Everyday when starting the jeep with oil cold (anywhere temps 20F or less)The oil pressure gauge climbs slowly at first and the check gauge light turns on and beeps at me like when I change the oil with a new un-filled filter. The light stays on for maybe a second at most and by then oil pressure is normal and it stops. so I'm not really sure whats going on...lol I'm just going to run it 3k anyway since theres no knock or anything

IDK.....Millions of Fram Oil Filters are sold each year and I've never seen a product re-call on any of their Oil Filter.

The TG filters, IMO, are quite good if you use the filter for a reasonable OCI with a internally clean engine.

However, I would not use the TG after 7K-8K miles.

If these filters were bad for vehicles don't you think by now that the company would be out of business with a mountain of law suits?????

I don't think anyone's claiming they're a BAD filter, just an over-priced one, like every FRAM filter save the Ultra.
