Fram TG 3600, 12.3k mi C&P

UPDATE: FWIW, I went back to my garage today, before taking these filters & some oil to a local household hazardous waste, and looked again at this filter. I took out my 300% glasses, which I didn't have on before, and what I thought were tears actually weren't tears. The filter media was raised from the base, but I could not see a tear formed. However, looking at the pics in the OP, a future tear wasn't long in forming. I'm still glad I took this filter off when I did, instead of taking it to another 1000-1500 miles. And it is a bit too close for comfort, so I'm still moving to M1 filters.
 
Did you do a C&P?
 
Yikes. I see that--it sure looks like a tear to me. Regardless, don't look good for 8500 miles. The 3614 is specced for my Highlander & Sienna, but I used the oversized 3600. More pleats, and less tearing (theoretically). Now I've got the M1-209A on those cars, and I'll take them both to over 10K before opening them up.
