2007 Honda Accord J30A5 with 156K on it. It had two OCI with a diet of Valvoline EP 5w30 for both change and roughly 11K usage . I put back PUP 5w-20 and OEM Honda A01 filter.

Nice Photos, thanks! (y)
I use the XG 7317 but what is this particular filter(FPS)? FRAM PRO SYNTHETIC?
I've never heard of these. Are they for the shop owners/techs? The professional version of the ULTRA?
Have you cut open the media to see if it has the wire backing?

The FPS looks slightly different than the XG:

Yes.

Not sure if Fram is still making the FPS series, and if so it they also went to the non-wire backed media.

That's the NEW Ultra design without the full synthetic wire-backed media.

FPS, minus "suregrip", an Ultra/XG by another name. Used sell them on ebay for significantly less than Ultra, especially when bought in lots of ~6. Haven't seen mention of them in a long time, be surprised if still being made.

FPS7317 looks unsurprisingly excellent. And without the "suregrip", I bet if using a cap wrench for removal, infinitely better/easier than the Ultra.

Thanks for c&p. Using an original A01 now, hard to find.

These are FU/XG without the suregrip. I got a couple of the 6-pack boxes when they were being sold on ebay back then. They are kept in climate controlled environment with no rust.
