It's patent for a lubricant with a special blend of additives.

At least the Japaneese recognize the proper definition for a synthetic oil:

quote:

The term "synthetic oil" means those lubricating oils which are chemically synthesized, and examples include poly-alpha-olefins, polyisobutylene (polybutene), diesters, polyol esters, phosphoric acid esters, silicic acid esters, poly-alkylene glycols, polyphenyl ethers, silicones, fluorine compounds, alkylbenzene, and so forth.

"At least the Japanese recognize the proper definition for a synthetic oil."

Look at the wording of their definition. That wasn't so hard, was it? Why couldn't the API have come up with an answer like that in 1998?

Oh, I forgot, they are worthless idiots.
