Focus SES or Cobalt?

Did anyone say the Focus was horrible or are you referring to greenaccord's post? IMHO, I don't think either of them are horrible. I think the Focus has better fit/finish but the price is right on the Cobalt and jeesh, it's not that bad. If I'd known the amount of discount some folks were getting on the Cobalt, I might have reconsidered it. But my local economy, thanks to recent natural gas finds, has not really suffered like elsewhere. So I don't know that anyone is truly giving monster deals across the board around here.

Tastes differ, I suppose. It handled poorly, it was underpowered, the interior was cheaply put together (yet better than the Cobalt by far) and everything about it just reeked of poor quality. If walmart had a store brand of car, it would probably be the focus. Not to mention the style of the vehicle. It looks like a chinese knock-off of something nice.

Oh yeah, and the ride was loud. I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

And why not? Their new products are excellent. We are paying taxes on them regardless of if we buy them or not. I mentioned this before in this thread, I believe. Why not buy the car, and get a great product. "government motors" is such a stupid term. All the people screaming to not buy GM cars are mostly the same people who were screaming for a GM Ch11. So quit being hypocritical.
I don't think that my statement is hypocritical G.M. as a corp should have been left to fail .

Give me a break.

Why would anyone consider a Toyota product?

I don't mean to feed the incipient flame fest, but the G5's owner did tell me that she greatly prefers driving or riding in my '99 Accord.
Go figure.
She also asked me why I hadn't told her about Hondas when she bought the G5, especially that after ten years and 100K, an Accord would still drive pretty close to new.
I replied that she hadn't asked and that I didn't really feel that I knew her well enough at the time to offer her advice without her asking.
Granted, an Accord LX would have run about 7K more than she paid for the G5, but, to steal an old advertising line (who here knows where it comes from?), the quality remains long after the price is forgotten.

I agree.

Can you change the oil on a Focus without ramps? I love the Ecotec engine in my Cavalier. In almost 8 years and 160K all I have done to the engine is change the spark plugs, oil, filter, and antifreeze. No expensive timing belt. I am wondering if I should replace the radiator hoses.
