Again.... The flu shot is not necessary for 95 % of Americans.

No sense trying to talk to them. They were told what was best for them by .gov or .multinational and that's it. It's the same people that abandoned butter and lard and embraced wholesome trans fats cause they were told to. Now they're eating the same stuff Swift uses to quickly fatten up cows to lose weight. Then they need pills to combat their diet choices. Sheep.

The big breakthrough is when they convinced people that aren't sick, and don't have any "condition," they needed chronic treatment for the things they didn't have. And even made up conditions to treat. Millions of kids are on powerful head pills because they acted like kids.

Someone acting as a sheep and taking pills to combat their dieting choices is not the same thing as receiving a flu shot.

Vaccine (preventative) / antibiotics (cure) vs. a prescribed drugs.

If I had a sinus infection, I'd be taking the antibiotics. If I was diabetic and had to take medication on a daily basis, but consumed pop, donuts and candy on a daily basis too, I feel I would need to rethink my life.

OK so let me get this straight.
MY cholesterol went from 235/59 (Ratio 4) to 172/67 (ratio 2.6) BC I take one 20 mg.Astorvastatin (cost 8 cents per day).

I was eating and still eat as few saturated fats as possible.I eat lots of fruit and nuts. I go to the gym 5 times/week and actually work out in addition to checking the younger scenery. I am 69 years old 5ft 9 inches tall and weigh 142. My doc at Hershey Med said he almost never sees anyone as healthy as me. Granted many people see sees are sick.

So if you were in my shoes you would just be content to die young like your dad? (My dad died of a massive heart attack at age 76). He was supposedly healthy...a farm boy who ate like people 100 years ago.

Just curious

By the same token, seat belts are not needed by a huge segment of drivers, only those who get into an accident, but it is strongly advised we all wear them, even mandated in all states.

As you say, may not be needed, but strongly advised.

Want to boost your bottom line, advise everyone to NOT get a shot and more will end up in care and likely be using more and expensive drugs. Mayhap that's what you're really after, in fact.

I'm actually supposed to believe a left wing outlet such as PBS.

Only show even remotely close worth watching there is Antique Roadshow, yet our tax funds are needed to continue to prop it up.

Our social health care system pays for the flu shot and every fall it is heavily advertised for everyone to get the shot.
In my family we are using vitamin C and D daily during the cold months and no one so far has had the flu. And especially my children age 8 and 6, going to school every day and being in contact with lots of sick kids. Common cold here and there, but it usually passes within a day.
We only do the vaccines that are required, nothing more.

Ill check it out when I get a chance.

Just to recap, I am not for overly medicating children. I thought my previous post conveyed that a bit better.

I approve of medications on a case by case basis, but I would take the steps to either first avoid them or get off of them ASAP.

For example, throwing a kid on medication because his kindergarten teacher says he has ADD/ ADHD is asinine. He could very well have too much energy, which is why they had 3 recesses when I was in school. Not sure about now, but i do feel the majority of public schooling is a JOKE. (This was me when I was around 5. She wanted me on meds and that was in the early 90s.)

I don't know enough to know if your numbers are high enough to be concerning. I'll ask my wife(BSN with 8+ years in cardiac intervention) what she thinks. I do know they are giving Lipitor to people with absolutely fine numbers and good looking arteries. Like my mom.

About your dad. It's sad that your dad died at 76 in seemingly great health. It's not as bad as the people that die at 94 that have been in a nursing home for 20 years. Sounds like he had a good complete active life.

Fair enough. And obviously you are in the position to get the things you need..congrarts.

And yes..about my dad you are 100% correct.

So we do agree once in a while. Have a great weekend!!

No, I don't want more people to get sick to increase stock price.

The flu shot is not needed in healthy adults.

Polio shots are not needed in those who won't get polio.

I got a flu shot today, because people around me are coming down with the flu. If this reduces my chances of getting the flu by 20%, I'll take it. If it does nothing but lessen the symptoms of the flu, I'll take that too.

I believe we got that.

Well, I guess it is his opinion.

I hope you realize it takes about 4 weeks to develop immunity.

I always get my flu shot when I notice the first victims of the season around me. So far this approach has worked for me. I haven't had the flu since age 12. Also:

It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against influenza virus infection.

Ill admit, I havent gotten mine in about 4 years. I worked with the public during that time too and never got sick.

As far as illness, my downfall is working outside in the winter and then sweating. I get my shirt wet then I get chilled. Bam.. Cold.

I am getting over a small one I got from waterfowl hunting last weekend. I carried all my junk about half a mile and got sweaty.
