Was greasing the u-joints on the truck this morning, and wishing that I had a creeper for the garage floor.

Can anyone recommend a brand/model that is currently available? I seem some on Amazon, but hard to know what is the best for a price range.

I have one from Dale Adams Enterprises for several years now. By far and away the best creeper that I've ever owned, and 100% American made.

I have a torin jack. Got it at walmart a few years back. Im 220 and it rolls pretty easy with me on it. Was $15 and its holding up great well worth the price

To be honest my favorite is the furniture pads from Uhaul. they are washable and heavy duty...when im under something and a nut or bolt or tool falls its easier to find for me.. about $8 each. https://www.uhaul.com/MovingSupplies/Protective-stuff/Furniture-Pad?id=2670

+1 on the furniture blankets. They're cheap and work great. I can usually find them on sale somewhere for around 5 bucls a piece. I don't like creepers because they move around whenever I trying to wrench on something.

I have the red plastic $20 creeper from harbor freight and i love it. rolls good and has small side indents to hold tools.

I have that Craftsman creeper too. I find myself having to tighten the casters fairly often (4 mm allen wrench). But it has held up fairly well, and I'm not a small guy (6'4, 250).

I have dog bone shaped one. I think i got it at Sears for cheap some years ago it works great, nice and low and much more stable than the old school ones.

I have a creeper that rarely gets used. Instead the large cardboard is just right for cold ground, you have more clearance and it soaks any oil splatters.

I use a Lisle Jeepers Creepers and am pretty happy with it. I like that it's light and has hand holds molded into it so I can carry it sideways like a briefcase or long-ways, then give it toss where I'm working at.

I had the $20 red Harbor Freight special, until a couple of weeks ago. Loved it for the 2 years I got out of it, and then one day one of the corners at the butt end gave way and I'm riding on 5 wheels. A week later, its neighbor on the same side snaps off and it rolls no more. To the curb it went.

I guess I got my $20 worth, but have now reverted back to doubled up cardboard boxes. I'd go single thickness, but my body is getting too old to take the abuse.

I used this style one last summer on a transmission R&R. It was excellent and the most functional I've ever used. I guess this is what is meant above as the "HF" special.

Part way through the job, I re-injured an old lower back injury (on something else, not the car project or creeper). The creeper was actually the only pain-free place I could be - even better than the bed with a heating pad. I ended up spending extra days doing marginally needed things under my truck (oil pan R&R, fuel filter change, etc.) because the creeper was the only place I could be 100% pain free. The way it is scooped and cradles you is really great and reduces fatigue from reaching up when on your back. Great design. Could be more durable as a had a bolt at one wheel corner break through the molding (I'm over 200lbs and was using it a lot), but I was able to fix it with a some spare hardware and McGyvering.
