FL820s alternative

Hey all,

I'm looking for an alternative to the Motorcraft FL-820s. The problem I am having is that the diameter of the filter is about a quarter of an inch or so too large to fit comfortably where I have to install it. Length is not a problem, however. Is there a filter that has the same specs but is in a smaller diameter size?

You do know he newer 820s is a smaller design? Just a recent change

Do you drive the car up on ramps? If so, after you stop turn the wheel a little to the left. This may give you extra room to get the filter out.

I had the same problem with our '95 T-Bird. Try the new FL-820S. It is smaller and you should have no problems getting it into position.

He said it was the diameter of the filter, not the length, that is his issue, so the new *improved* FL820S won't buy him anything.

Same 22mmx1.5 thread and same diameter gasket.
