Does anyone know what size the fittings are for a ford powerstroke (the 6 litre version) needed to install a bypass filter? I know they go into the full flow adapter and then return to the block I just don't know the sizes. My friend at work got a frantz to install. It's a 2001 ford e-450 delivery van.

I take it you plan to connect the filter where the oil lines connect to the radiator cooler. It so, contact a radiator shop. I'm sure they could tell you. My Chevy Astro used a 1/2 pipe thread. I picked up the barbed connectors at Ace Hardware. They had everything I needed.

Which filter you going to use? I chose the Motor Guard from Ralph Wood. I like the ease of changing TP. I've previously used the Frantz until the early 80's. I like the more positive and ease of changing of the Motor Guard.

Please keep us posted on what you installed and the fittings used.

Thanks

Roy

iceberg,

If it's an '01 PSD it's probably a 7.3 liter and not a 6.0 liter. Are you sure about that? Ford didn't come out w/the 6.0 until 2003. Here is my Frantz install on my 6.0 PSD:

Mykro, Thats the one. The van is on the road and we wanted to get the fittings before it gets back.

I forget the thread size.. All I did originally was take the stock plugs out and take them down to the ace hardware store and match them up...
