Great full electric and excellent indie design for what it is on the renault platform. You want UUgly and "cheap" appearing, check out the MIEV Mitsu:
I've yet to see a Leaf too.

That's cool. I haven't seen a Leaf yet, either.
IMHO, Nissan should've done more to make the Leaf stand out with regard to exterior styling. I've seen a couple Volts driving around, and they definitely do stand out.

+1 on the Leaf needing to be more eye appealing. Who wants to drive something that ugly, even if it burns no petrol.
I usually see 2-4 Nissan Leaf's every day around Nashville. They are ALL over the place here.

i think both the volt and leaf have unique styling. volt is more in your face whereas the leaf has that funky alternative vehicle look to it. i've seen multiple volts on the road and they definitely have presence. have yet to see a leaf anywhere. don't even know if the nissan dealer near me has one or not.
I've seen a few Leafs, including one that seemed too far from home based on its license plate. Not sure what they were up to seeing the limited range on those things.
I see more Volts. Just about every morning I hit the light outside my neighborhood with a white one. Also there are enough using my building's parking garage that they decided to install charging stations (apparently people were already plugging into wall outlets) and charge a small premium for the spot. I was surprised at that. IMO, the Volt's setup is the way to go. Electric only will suffice most days for a lot of people, yet you can still take it on a road trip. The Leaf can't leave town.

I actually saw a transporter with a few of these on them going down the road. Some type of event, as the cars had decals on them.
Last and only time I saw one was in Japan this year.

I've also seen quite a few Leafs here in Chattanooga. Not sure how many are the same ones, but there has to be at least 5 since I have seen red, black, blue, silver, and white.

I think gasoline would have to hit $15-20 bucks a gal. before I would drive around in that Mitsubishi thang.
