Yes. Functionality wise, it seems to be the same as FF28 except some of the toolbar icon customization is gone and replaced with this icon on the far right that opens up a customizable menu.

Ok. thanks, Drew!

- that's one of the most important functions for me right now, on FF28 -
however I do remember I had to get Tab Mix extention to enable it; otherwise it would open the new BM in the CURRENT tab, and not a NEW tab...
I have to make sure that current tab mix settings will remain if/when I go to 29.

I'm not joking; nothing else has changed except FF and 1080 Youtube video runs better and the laptop runs about 3C cooler.

I'll keep it!

Did you figure out a way to bring back the bottom add-on bar?

Thanks!

The Classic Theme Restorer was written specifically for the default Australis theme, so it may not work well with other themes such as FTDD. But that other add-on bar extension might do the trick. I'll have to play around in my spare time.

Ugh it auto(force)updated today to FF29
Had to use classic theme restorer to get my [censored] tabs on the BOTTOM like wanted to; and to get the ADD ON BAR back.
After fiddling with it for about an hour and tab mix and installing FT DD theme and using CTR add on to make the tabs SQUARE again...

what a pain.

why would you change something pretty big like the add on bar (vanish) and tabs location (no option to change) without giving any options to make it change if people wanted to?

No good weather and clock display either.
Forecast fox is not updated for FF29 yet, nor is the simple clock i was using on the add on bar

PITA!

I went there too and installed it.

and it shows under installed add ons, and although the CTR add on gave me the status bar, i can NOT see forecast fox installed... it's NOWHERE to be seen..

I wonder if you have to get the add-on bar from the dedicated extention for JUST the add on bar, in order for Forecast fox to appear at all...(like that link describes)

but other apps like adblock went into my current status bar just fine...

My Firefox 29 is faster than your Firefox 24. But it took me a couple hours to design it (from 28 to 29) in a way where I didn't lose anything along the way.

The ESR's emphasize security over speed and features. I do not use them; but thought I would point out that Mozilla provides them for those who do not wish to keep so acutely abreast with Firefox's rapid-fire release model.

Is it possible people are seeing speed improvement with FF29 because a bunch their add-ons got disabled since they're incompatible with FF29 for now?

The color scheme is whatever you OS color scheme is. To change it got to the desktop, right click and choose properties, then the appearance tab.

This can be a reason, sure.

However, I am only 2 add-ons short, but have an add-on that's probably more speed killing than those those 2 combined. (Restore Classic theme)...but hard to say for sure until i get a clock and forecast fox to work.
EDIT: I also have FT Deep Dark. That and the Restore classic are VERY probably harder on the browser than the very simple clock I had and forecast fox combined, methinks.

The little circle thing that goes round and round definitely rotates a lot faster, and my personal torture test, CNN homepage, definitely finishes loading quicker than before. It's instant now; earlier, i could def. SEE it loading section by section, even though it was still pretty fast; now it's just one loading action.

I thought I read in a changelog or press release that they'd done some work on their JavaScript rendering engine. Given how ubiquitous JavaScript is these days that could account for a considerable speed-up.
