Has anyone installed FF 29 yet? The update came in on my update manager this morning and I installed it. I would have to say I like it a lot! A little more like Chrome now, and I like the way chrome is set up.

Anyone else like it, don't like it? Opinions?

It's absolutely hideous. No more tabs on the bottom, less customization. Why do these internet companies constantly change things for the worse? Google made YouTube complete [censored] with Google +. They constantly change the user interface for no good reason. I won't use Firefox anymore until they get rid of the Australis user interface. It's complete and total [censored].

I got it on both Android and Ubuntu yesterday. I was looking forward to the new syncing feature in place of the old and it seems to be working out well... I like the new interface, too.

Yeah, that was another thing I noticed. I'm actually using an add-on called Status-4-Evar that helps you manage the bottom toolbar, but even that was no longer working properly in FF29.

It was just a lightly-skinned Gnome desktop before Unity, which you can still use with a few clicks of a mouse.

If you intend to steer clear of the new interface as long as possible (they're not going to change it back!) you may want to look at using version 24. It seems every 7 versions is an ESR or Extended Support Release (an assumption I have made from the observation that both 10 and 17 were also ESR) and they get security updates much longer than the interim versions.

I hate Firefox 29. What I hated most is losing the bottom Add-On toolbar that contained both Adblock Edge interface and No Squint interface. Returning the Add-On bar now requires installing an Add-On Plug-In...... yuck to that.

Another thing Firefox changed was changing all my Texts to Icons, plus I lost my Print Page option in the Menu Bar and I had to go digging for 'Downloads' and 'Reload' links.

I have recovered everything and even changed-back to 'Text'. But a couple of those old Menu Listings are now somewhere else, like in 'Tools' now. It's going to take a little getting used-to.

Ok so I've gotten to use Firefox 29 a little more now. I absolutely love it! Everything is so much easier and smoother. Great job Mozilla!

Define easier and smoother? It does seem to load pages a bit faster, but I'm noticing about an extra 75 to 100 megs of memory usage compared to FF28.

I was a little surprised that "Bookmark this page" and "Show all bookmarks" were removed from the BOOKMARKS menu in favor of buttons next to the Google search pane...but I am not bothered by it. The only other change I've noticed is the color of the window pane (black to blue). Not bothered by that either. Just so long as it works is all I ask.

I haven't really noticed much of a change from FF28 but I don't run any add-ons and never liked the tabs feature either. I just use the basic browser.

I have Firefox 29 running on Window XP and it's okay, no major problem so far.

I don't know how much longer I can run Window XP without major problem.

Easier and smoother as in getting to bookmarks and things like settings. It is also much faster at loading websites, and uploading / downloading.

A change in browser affects your internet speed?

MaxLife makes your clothes fit better, too.

Just joshin'... FireFox crashes too much for me on even basic websites (Google Maps is near unusable for me), so I've gone back to Chrome.
