I have used fram extra guard filters and honda oem filters... What filter do you recommend. I dont really want to keep buying the honda filter because its 9 bucks when it used to be 5, i feel thats to much. i change the lil and filter by the maintence minder so its around 5 thousand miles a change

Napa Gold/Wix 1356, has very good beta ratios. I believe the Purolator PureONE 14610 is one of the filters that claim 40 micron 99.9% instead of the 20 micron 99.9%... someone correct me if I'm wrong.

True ... but it's probably still around 97 ~ 98% @ 20 microns and still better beta ratio than WIX/ NAPA Gold.

WIX/ NAPA Gold is 95% (Beta 20) @ 19 microns.
Beta Ratio: 2/20=6/19

PureONE has silicon ADBV, WIX/ NAPA Gold doesn't. I also like and do use NAPA Gold quite often.

Are you sure that the WIX/NAPA Gold doesn't have a silicon ADBV?

Their website says that they do have silicon ADBV. The box of the 51356 and 51365 filters that I have say they do have silicon ADBV.

$9 is way too much for a Honda oil filter

I use the L-24458 on my 2007 Civic EX cause I have a bunch of oversized discontinued Purolator filters

My mistake ... yes, they DO have the silicon ADBV. I must have been thinking of a different filter.

I buy Honda filters online there a lot cheaper then $9, closer to $5. You also realize Honda recommends the filter to be changed every other oil change, right?

Beta Ratio = Efficiency %
2 = 50%
4 = 75%
20 = 95%
75 = 97.5%
200 = 99.5%
1000 = 99.9%

Look at the BOLD red pairs of numbers below for the WIX format of showing Beta Ratios.

Beta Ratio: 2/20=6/19

Means Beta Ratio 2 = 6 microns.
So, this means the filter is 50% efficient (Beta = 2) @ 6 microns.

Beta Ratio: 2/20=6/19

Means Beta Ratio 20 = 19 microns.
So, this means the filter is 95% efficient (Beta = 20) @ 19 microns.

Oh alright, that makes sense. I was figuring that since it was a 40% filter that it would be significantly less at 20 microns (i.e. <95%)
