Female Owned?

Most women I know think that if the car runs it is just fine.

My mother is a perfect example. She'd probably NEVER maintain the car, just fix it when it quit!

I guess my girlfriend would be an exception. I had to talk her off 4000 mile OCI's with mobil 1 in her car. She's always doing something to it when i go over there, transmission fluid or something. If she ever parts with it, which i doubt she ever will, the next owner is gonna have pretty much a brand new car.

I have noticed that girls usually SLAM the poor doors and all the guys i know (incl me) don't do that...
strange, i think, but I really notice that a lot.

My wife is really careful with the mechanical aspects of the cars, partly with my "coaching", and she always asks questions, and is METICULOUS with maintenance. She does have books, a few empty water bottles, and a few (not too dirty) napkins in the car sometimes, though.
She also closes doors harder than I do.

I am sure not all women are bad obviously, but that was a bit of an eye opener for me.

Do we have the same ex? She turned an 8 year old Civic with a little over 100k miles into near salvage yard status. And it was three years old when she bought it through the dealer and still warrantied, so she only had to maintain it for 5 of them.

My sister in law runs around with engine knocking due to low oil level and not changing oil for a year. I hear suspension knocking and clunking. She runs brakes till they do not work any longer. Tire cords showing etc...

She just buys a barely used Caravan every 5 years and changes the oil when she remembers or it breaks down occasionally. Around 5 year mark it all catches up and she trades for new one as the vehicle is in rough shape mechanically and 4 beyond active kids trashed the interior.

She purchases them for $13k and puts maybe $2k in for around 100k miles and a trade in of about $1k in the end. It works for her.

I feel bad for the next owner.

Does Female Owned send up a red flag to you? Thanks

It would cause me a lot of concern based on how I see the woman around here drive and the way the females I know take care of( NOT )their vehicles.

Boy....I'll say I am surprised and yet not surprised by these comments.

In our family, the women take exceptional care of the vehicles, probably drive them better then the guys do, and are very quick to say when something's not right.

However, in our family though, we've all had to learn how to do the repairs on our own vehicles as most of us can't afford what shops charge for even the frivuloust of repairs.

That said, I have seen woman jump in and just floor it; but I've seen even more men doing that here in Colorado.

My wife treats her car very well, but only because I have explained that it takes money, my time, and effort to fix things.

Get up and go to work about the time the schools open, any day of the week. Watch how women drive then and that'll tell you all you need to know. I about get run over in the morning if I leave too late.

But, according to many of you, redlining is perfectly acceptable driving behaviour and I'm POSITIVE that you'll purchase a car that has been driven with this attitude by the former owner!
