How about you? I love all the seasons, would miss any one of them if they were not there. Both summer and winter get a little tiring by the end, for me, in my climate. steady 28-30 deg C in summer and anywhere from 0 to -25 in winter. Don't like the extremes, and that's part of why I love the fall so much. Cool sweater weather, but not bitter cold or below zero in the mornings and evenings, pleasant warm mid-day. The only season I have the windows almost always open, be it in the truck or in the house. The maple trees turning their orange and red colours is just starting to happen. As well that cozy feeling that comes from stocking up the house and recaulking, insulating, and just securely locking all the outdoor summer stuff away makes me feel secure. I'll miss summer, but I always love the fall.

Who's with me on this one?

It stays green down here but I can feel the air isn't as humid as it was a few weeks ago.
I love when I can do yard work without a sweating my [censored] off.

When I left the house this morning it was 54 degrees and windy. Felt great to throw on a fleece and put down the windows in the car.

I love Spring and Fall. I'm getting to where I dread the hot weather in the Summer. The rain in the Winter also get's old as well. I grew up in Hawaii till I was 11 years old and don't think I could handle the heat now that I'm a year away from 50.

I like temps from the upper 50s to the low to mid 70s.

Didn't think I'd be alone with this, but so many folk I talk to are so depressed with the end of summer they lose sight of what fall has to offer. I have to work sunday tomorrow (technically today, 12:30 am here now) but I look forward to cruising around on my lunch break with all 3 windows (that rear opening window on a truck is as good as a sunroof, IMO) and rolling down tree lined streets just taking in the sights and enjoying myself makes me want to get up and go. I'll have to charge up my beatup old digital cam and snap some pics, there are so many beautiful trees in Mississauga and especially in Oakville within 20min, nevermind couple hours up north where my pops lives. It's like living inside an oil painting being in some of those forests once October comes. If I do, I'll be sure to post some. Enjoy the fall guys.

Maybe up in Canada the end of summer is depressing, but down here it's great. It's just now getting out of the mid nineties during the day and into the seventies at night. Pretty soon we'll have highs in the 70-80s and lows in the 50-60s and it'll be windows-down weather again!

I had dinner with a friend last night and we talked about the same thing. We agreed fall was our favorite season. Losing the humidity of summer is great for outdoor work plus the fall colors (don't mind raking leaves). The only negative is the furnace is already beginning to "wake-up" during our cool nights.

Yeah, I've always kind of liked fall. When I was young it was a time of change, starting new classes in school or college. Now it's just the seasons rolling by (and they do seem to roll by quicker these days). My kids looking forward to Halloween. The area where I live has a nice set of seasons. None are too harsh. About the time you get tired of of one seasonal weather, the next season starts, never boring.

In my 20's I found it a great time for taking a "mental retreat". Great time for solitude ..introspection ...

Ain't that the truth..........

When I lived in an area that had seasons, I despised fall mainly due to the endless raking of leaves that had to be done.

Funny, cleanig up leaves is actually my favorite (least hated, anyway) kind of yard work. I pop in the earplugs, strap on the backpack blower and actually get lost in the task. Using the snowblower would be similar except that the snow HAS to be removed right away. Leaves can be done at my convenience.

Cutting the grass is the worst for me. My property is uneven and a real PITA to mow.

I agree Fall is the best. The cool clear air, the beautiful colors, the lack of bugs... I love to go on road trips in the Fall and my music of choice for the Fall is the early 60's folk music. Fall always reminds me of college campuses and the folk music of that era. R.I.P. Mary Travers.

I don't know why but Fall doesn't seem to last very long anymore. It seems like 3 or 4 weeks and it's gone.

In my case, I was handed a cheap rake and flimsy, thin plastic bags - and I was instructed to compress the leaves in the bags manually to fit more leaves inside, until the bags fairly burst at the seams.
Hate.

The only depressing thing is the early sunsets... It is funny in early april having snow banks everywhere and already being on DST with 7 pm sunsets. However with a well lit garage and outside lights I can feel like master of my domain.

Mowing is down to every other week and there's no snowblowing yet. Both tedious chores. No mud. No bugs.

Not yet to the point of the annual argument with my wife over raking. We have woods in our back yard and leaves blow over after a raking. IMO we should rake immediately before the first snow or a very heavy rainstorm to glue the leaves down. She apparantly doesn't have enough to do and wants to get the leaves done.

In three days I will be 20 feet up in a tree with my recurve enjoying fall in all its glory, also camping, smoking cigars, and barbeque. no wife- no kids- no problem. yes fall is my favorite season and has been for years
