Cool and cloudy weekend here; I like it. Took these at Hanging Rock State Park yesterday with my Fuji 2MP camera.

Nice weekend, good hiking weather!

Those pics are beautiful. I am going to NC this week to do some hiking in pisgah national forest. I love it up there.

Good deal; should be better fall color there as another week will have gone by and I guess the mountains are higher there, too. The highest point in Hanging Rock is only about 2,500'.

Take a pic or two!

What's that flat stuff between the trees ?

I think that is called water...

NC has lots of water, especially this year. Some areas have had problems getting rid of the excess. We had a light rain last weekend. Only 1" of water in my rain gauge. A few weeks ago, when that last tropical storm came ashore, my rain gauge ran over twice. It only reads to 5 1/2".

Yup, water. It's useful stuff; you can make coffee with it, brew beer with it, freeze little cubes of it and pour scotch over it -- really, a million uses. Ya'll should get some.

I spent about a month in the Pisgah Forest, and other areas around there, when I was 17, way back in 1978, at the Outward Bound school.
Didn't set foot inside a building (other than a brief trip to the hospital down in Occonee(I know I didn't spell that one correctly)SC for about 26 days. Hiking, rock climbing, canoeing on the Chattooga, man that was a good summer.
