Anyone have experience with any Falken knockoff tires?
I bought a set a few months ago and left rear was flat but the others were good. I just refilled and waiting..I caught it within 1 day so no big deal.

Falken is a low end brand to begin with. And then you're talking about buying knockoff version of them? Scary. How much is your life worth?

Falken actually makes some nice tires. I have a set on my RAV4, they are very quiet, have good speed rating, good tread rating (500), and they didn't kill my pocket book.

Mine were made in Thailand.

What are you referring to by "knockoff" tires? Tires made by Falken, under another name to fit a different market?

I remember reading about numerous blow outs on both new and slightly used performance Falkens. It was enough to make me not consider them. Why take the risk? Of course, then there are some people who will drive 160 mph on a 135 mph rated tire.

Falken complaints

I see zero risk. Discount Tire is probably the largest tire shop in the nation. I have bought several sets of Falkens from them, they all wore fine, and made no noise.

You think a tire shop like that is going to sell dangerous junk to the consumer who in turn will sue them?

There are some real no name chinese tires online, those I would not buy but anything at a discount tire shop they are going to stand behind it, or replace if it is not to the customer's expectations.

I have falken tires, not sure wht the knockoff brand of them are. I have the sincera sn211 touring tires on the olds. 80,000 mile tire. They are wearing great and will last longer than i keep the car.

I have seen Falken knockoffs on Ebay called Ohtsu I am pretty sure. They are identical to Falkens. I myself bought two Falkens once, I put them on the front of our old Monte Carlo. They were good for dry conditions but not real good in wet/snow conditions. I cant remember what model they were, but later in reading about Falkens in general that was the consensus on all their tires.

Falken tires are decent performance-oriented tires at a great price.

What model did you buy? Falken makes several different lines.

I respectfully disagree with you on this

I had a set of Falken FK452 on my S2000 long time ago (around mid-late 2006). It was better in term of performance/handling than ultra high performance OEM Brigestone RE050. I took it all the way down to slick and the performance/handling was better than I expected and better than full tread too. I remember that I didn't have to add air for 5-6 months for Falken tires, with Brigestone RE050 I had to add few PSI every 2-3 months.

Currently I have Falken ZE916 on the rear of my S2000, the front is Kumho 4X. Both tires retain air very well, don't need to add air for many months, and they stay balance without need to re-balance every rotation.

Yes, Falken tires in general are much cheaper than Michelin or Pirelli or Continental, but they have some decent models that are as good as mid-price of toptier brands.

I didnt mean that they are bad. Just that they are not in the same rank as michelin or bridgestone which are considered high end brands. And yes, every manufacturer out there can make a bad tire.

Yeah, OP needs to clarify before this thread goes off the deep end.

I think he was calling Falken tires knockoffs. I did find a recent tire thread from him:

I was looking at a set of Ohtsu tires for my wife's Matrix.

Glad we did not purchase them, Discount has pulled from from the stores, and they are now replacing with Veento tires, which is also getting bad ratings online.

Also they selling Barum Bravuris 3. Isn't that an old Polish company?

Most likely the tire purchase for her car will be Falken Sincera SN-828 @ $78 each.

Czech, but same difference. Regardless, Barum is now owned by Conti.

In an eerie twist, the tires I got on haven't lost any pressure for 2 months. Now granted I got one nail but that can be blamed on the surfaces we choose to go over and not a condemnation of the tire at all. The other 3 aren't magnets for nails so I am not worried of any growing trend in this department.
