does anyone know how exxon oil performs vs other conventional oils like valvoline or castrol?
i have found a very good deal on exxon 5/30, like 2.29 per qt.
i know its Honda's oil. but thats about it.

my questions are:
is it a clean oil
does it protect well
will it meet late model ford requirements

Locally it's walmart's supertech, 5 quarts for $10.

Yet superflo is a good oil especially in the 5w20 and 5w30.

Not anymore. Honda oil is now Conoco-Philips.

Because CP offered a better deal. Cost is a big factor in decisions along with performance/reliability.

I would like proof of this.

Hasn't Honda worked with ExxonMobil for a while now? [censored], don't some of their motorsports teams use Mobil 1, or am I mistaken?

it doesn't matter if Honda uses it or not.
is it comparable with premium conventional oils?
you guys are ALL smart that's why i asked

Na is sodium. Exxon/Mobil uses it as an additive. The other two brands don't.

IMO his short intervals caught them at their thinnest. They're designed to that because they're all ISLAC energy conserving certified.

After 5000-6000 miles they'll be back in the 30 grade range.

With these nice wear numbers he can start following his oil life sensor and run longer intervals.

Not sure. Walmart Supertech doesn't use it.

Besides being common knowledge (It was reported here a while back), I work at an oil distributor that sells Conoco-Philips products. We recently started carrying Honda oil, which comes on the same truck as the Conoco oil.
