Extended interval oils

The whole thing. I have friends that do 15K with M1 EP oils. Another does 15-20K with reg M1 5-30. All their engines run very well even at 350K. Myself, I do 10K OCIs and have for 40 years.

I believe the running/usage pattern, typical environment in which the vehicle runs it matters as well, then fuel delivery system, having a UOA done to verify the oil can be run for a longer interval and then the type of oil dictates if an oil can be run for 15k miles.

Dnewton3 ran Rural Farm conventional oil for a bit over 13k miles in his motor. Typical running pattern, fuel delivery system, and environment his vehicle ran in, and having a UOA let him know he could run it for a long interval has well.

Definitely the base oil. For example when you look at Mobil 1 EP and Mobil 1 AP oils you don't see much difference in the add packs.

You will want a spun microglass filter on that 25k mile interval, maybe a tbn booster the last 5k miles as well, ha.

Probably. Synthetics hold up better under high heat than dino oil does, so there should be some benefits. As always, utilize a UOA to decide on the correct interval for your particular engine.
