Well, maybe that keeps him out of trouble. He's been arrested a dozen or more times, to include firearms offenses. It's a shame he can't focus that energy on something productive. He just seems the sort that's going to be broke forever, like he's compelled to throw away every dime he earns. I've seen folks with hoarding tendencies do the same. Still, maybe he'll find a trustworthy mentor at his church or somewhere who can teach him about personal finance and get things turned around.

It has become a cycle.

He creates a new name, starts out like he's any other newb, then people begin to notice similarities. After a while a crititcal mass of people know it's him, but the threads continue because it is entertaining. After that, he singles out one or two members to drive crazy with his nonsense and won't leave them alone (Volvohead, OVERKILL), then gets banned when he gets too ridiculous and starts basically harassing the people who are trying to help him more than anyone. Same old cycle.

It wouldn't be an issue if he didn't try to drag people into his craziness, but he will PM someone he latches on to incessantly. He clearly didn't like OVERKILL putting him on ignore. That's when he gets into trouble. If he didn't do that, and didn't pollute multiple forums with his nonsense threads, he probably wouldn't get banned. If he kept his craziness to a couple threads and didn't try to ruin the experience for valuable members, he would be allowed on here.

Maybe he needs a psychiatrist and medication rather than a message board to provide his therapy? This is all just theatre and we are his audience. He has no intention of following the advice given here; advice given in good faith. That means financial advice, mechanical advice and life advice. All of which has been provided by various members over the years and his tenure here under the variety of aliases noted earlier.

I foolishly tried to help him, since I have a lot of experience with the same vehicle. This caused him to "latch on" to me and I started receiving PM's from him. Once I realized that he was not actually going to follow my advice and that instead he was going to destroy the vehicle, I told him I was done. He didn't take that well and I began receiving more PM's from him about me ignoring him. So then I was forced to use the ignore feature, something I've NEVER done on this board in my entire time here, and that went over even less well with him, in his state, as he felt a key member of his audience was now ignoring him. He then started to pollute the threads I was participating in trying to get my attention.

Whether Joseph is "likeable" or not is irrelevant. And when he isn't going full-bore into a self-destruct situation, he can be entertaining. But it never stays that way. It ALWAYS escalates out of control until he gets banned. Then he comes back under a different alias and the process repeats itself.

I don't know what is more sad, the fact that the process is so utterly predictable or the fact that most are aware of how it is going to play out (myself included) but continue to try and provide assistance anyway

There are millions of people who live their life that way. This is the Facebook generation where you are expected to be on stage for as many as you can draw.

It's the way kids are being raised. Parents shuttle their kids to sports stuff hoping they'll be big time high dollar players. You can't even find science fairs anymore. Be famous or bust.

I think everybody's seen Jaywalking where young people know every move of the stars but can barely add 2+2. They want to be famous in some way, even if it's as a mass killer or serial killer. Hey, at least everyone knows who you are.

I suspect this guy was messing up his vehicles on purpose so he'd have something to show off. Hey, look over here. Look what I did.

I don't disagree with you OVERKILL.

But I don't think it hurts for positive suggestions whether car related or life related are made to him repeatedly here, it can never hurt, perhaps if the messages are repeated enough here he will eventually listen, some people need repetitive reinforcement before the help actually starts to take effect. I wonder if the mods warned him about his annoying you with the PMs before banning him yet again?

But it may not help either. And if he continues on in the way he has been, that attention may make him worse, in which case the positive intentions are more than offset by the negative consequences.

You are not dealing with a normal person here. He lives the way he does because he has chosen that. He chooses many things, like being crushed by huge women. I don't think anybody on this board can get inside that mindset to try and figure it out. From the outside we think we are effecting change but the reality is that it is likely all part of the drama that he intended. We are all just extras or audience members in this play and he is centre stage, running the show. We have no real effect on the outcome of the production.

Engine: 5.4L
The noise started last week
It gets "worse" when engine is full warm.. does not really happen when cold except maybe faintly on acceleration.
it has been slightly better these past few days...

Troublesome, though, is this oil cap pic that I took when it was full warmed. I wish I could say that this is when it was cold. It was not. When filling up for gas... I checked the oil cap. And...

Moisture will collect on oil cap,seen it before, it will go away, usually when very hot, but I have been a fan of marvel mystery oil and that stuff never forms when I use MMO, but you know, it may not work for you.

Looks like normal moisture condensation that tends to happen during winter because the engine does not stay at temp long enough to burn it off.
